Imagine what you like, but he has been there nearly 5 years.
-
Even if 1 in 4 of the £2m-£4m range move up a level it pays for the whole strategy.
-
I meant he's continually said he wants to stay at Spurs while they run around trying to sign new CD's.
-
...that it is just as important for the club to sign 4/5 upcoming 20-23 yr olds as it is to get 2/3 first team players. It is a strategy in widespread use and a sensible one. It is not just about re-sale value or players holding their value, we are on average quite an old side ie Geremi, Viduka, Duff, Butt, Beye, Cacapa even Owen in football years. Good young talent that might play/start half a dozen games is correctly part of our new strategy. I personally will be as excited to see us trying to unearth fresh talent as signing a big name player.

Writing off a 22yr old who's played in the PL. Yeah he must be shit. Pub garden material. -
At £2.5m why not I say.

If it was (b) then we're f***ed. If Ashley's going to lie to or mislead the manager then we're never going to be able to get a decent manager to stay for any length of time, and I don't care how many promising young talented players we manage to sign, if we stick with that policy only we're always going to be a mid table side at best acting as a feeder club to those with ambition*. Edit: * That's the ambition to win things, not just the ambition to make a tidy profit. can't say i disagree - keegan needs to be allowed to sign at least SOME of his own targets but i understand, as Tron says, if the board are saying you're not paying 10m+ for a 30 year old we need a balance between the two - SWP for instance or Dunne would be reasonable targets for us to move for, that calibre of player for decent fees that sort of thing, plus some kids for the unknown factor would be the ideal balance...arsenal have the best youngsters around but they couldn't beat the nouse that man u and chelski's more experienced players had saying to KK you're not getting anyone above 'XX' years old regardless of price would be suicide look at spurs - if i were them at the moment i'd be shitting myself about their midfield as they've no experience coming in just kids, what experience they do have basically isn't that good Seriously man I think you are underestimating KK.

I imagine we were seriously looking at Dunne, but circumstances have changed somewhat. Agree Dawson is a strange one. Think he'll have a nosebleed if he leaves Norf Lahndhan. (Backtrack in place*) Alexis?? Young CD.
-
I don't think he's on KK's list either. Dunne and Crouch look like names that would be on KK's list.
-
Dawson is blunder prone, but there is a good CD in there somewhere. Still young? We already have Taylor though we need someone experienced in there with him or Faye would have to pass on Dawson i think i'll lose faith in life itself if we sign dawson - what fucken scouting team would recommend/approve him anyways? Being overly harsh on Dawson imo.
-
What I don't like the look of is this Crouch/Milner/Riise Bermuda triangle.

Zigic and Dawson look like the main targets at the moment. With Turan the 13m tag is a bridge too far IMO and we will drop interest. The likes of Diane and the young Swedish lad look good value. I can't see Arshavin happening now unless KK has specifically requested him. My main concenrs are the midfield (Reyes is a gamble and it seems wierd we're in for him if the rumours are correct). Emana?? Duff, Ameobi and Smith will leave or we will try and move on. On the whole it looks to me like a safety first strategy ie getting players the right age with development potenetial. Altough there could well be a surprise in there if KK digs his heels in. 4/5 promising youngster to finish off the summer package I reckon. (Maybe Digard in this group??) We need someone on the right to link with Beye, someone with pace, skill and better than average crossing.

Goodish player and at that money no harm done. Can play 2/3 positions and still developing. For me it's a quiet buy. -
One of the funniest and "Hopperesque" scenes in modern film history.

The itk guy says it 3 players to be done by the end of the week. Dos santos is near enough certain to be one, the guy says the other guy either plays for portugal or plays in portugal, and the 3rd is probably Bostock but people still havnt clocked on yet. There are a number of options bubbling away. Bostock has already had an official announcement of sorts so I would discount him as one of the 3 if there are going to be simultaneous announcements for 3 players. If there are 3 deals coming to fruition they could be announced on Friday as at the weekend Levy and Alexander (the Company Secretary) depart for annual vacations. BTW, I've got considerable doubts that Veloso will be one of the three, if indeed there are three. Veloso would be just about the worst sort of defensive midfielder you could possibly sign so it would probably be a good thing if you didn't for your sake of course. You need a real destroyer sort for that midfield but oddly enough it doesn't seem you have been linked with too many. Your midfield is still too soft in my opinion. Zokora and Huddlestone are just not effective enough as DMs in a 4-4-2. f***ing hell kaka, you're absolutly spot on imo. Veloso is not the dm we should be looking at. He seems the carrick type dm (sits infront of the back 4 and just sprays 60 yarders here and there). A destroyer is what we need and we've been linked with Angelo palombo from sampdoria who's the closest thing to gattuso you'll ever likely to fing. One of my favourite players and i hope we can sign him... YOu certainly need a high tempo, big engine destroyer.

This could happen.

Good. We really need to avoid Crouch.
-
Ashton would be a blunder of really big blunderous proportions.

That's what he's implying. Are we any more stable now though? We're definitely more stable and Mr Mort has really put the hours in to get there. Things we're not aware of/or discussed much is that we've had teams of analysts from the business world look at our situation and make recommendations. These are being acted on in a determined manner. IMO from this base we will go forward, but at what speed is hard to say.
