  1. Me and Chez were making jokes this morning on another board about Dyer out Deco in.
  2. Weah all time hero status...Should let him run Africa.
  3. Pepe to Real. Euro 30m they say. Competing for that illusive best defender in the world tag. Player profile: Pepe Full name: Kepler Laveran Lima Ferreira Position: Defender Date of Birth: 26 February 1983 Birthplace: Maceio, Brazil Born in Brazil, Kepler Laveran Lima Ferreira, known simply as Pepe, is an immensely strong centre-back who appears set to claim his place among the world’s finest defenders. He is practically unbeatable in one-on-one situations, dominant in the air and is one of the fastest defenders in Europe. It therefore came as no surprise that Pepe wasted little time in stepping into the shoes of the retired Jorge Costa to become the undisputed boss of FC Porto’s defence. Training in the sand and sea There is an interesting explanation behind how Pepe honed many of his considerable attributes. He acquired his remarkable speed by running, day after day, on the sandy Brazilian beaches while he was still a promising junior. Likewise, his dominance in the air is not an innate gift, but was perfected over years during his childhood when he was forced to go into the sea and jump with a weight strapped to his legs by his demanding father. 4. I'm living proof rasta. :parky: Aren't we all? All sunbeams mate travelling in time.
  5. Fancy a bet we'll finish above you? Jesus, Parky, you're obviously a bit flush, mate. I've technically banked your £50 already spar. Just the small matter of getting a few games out the way.
  6. This sounds melodramatic, but I genuinely get goosebumps when I think about how lucky I was to watch that man play on a regular basis. He really was *that good*. His partnership with Shaun Teale was magnificent. Week after week he just made it look absolutely effortless, and to think he did it without being able to train and whilst being shitfaced half the time, what a fantastic piece of transfer business that was. I can't believe they've put Platt's transfer in, but not Dwight Yorke - 10k to a club in Tobago, several years excellent service, then 13m to Man United. Pub in Ireland in the end wasn't it? Platt should have done his coaching badges everyone rated him in Serie A at one point.
  7. If we do sign Curis I am deleting my account, moving house, changing ISP and will register under a completely different name What again? Last time was for grooming, this is a bit different.

  9. That'll be Nappy Rash and his crew, probably Brownie as well. SamL kicking off with people for singing. Zog fluffs another shot and Martins is off for Lua Lua, Troisi for Dyer. Kaaaaaaaazengaaaaaaa!

  11. Well Allardyce seems to think they do need convincing. We don't know that sufficient money is there, all we know is what he's told us, which is that the board have been slow to act and that deals have been falling through which suggests money is very possibly an issue. That was a week or so ago. We're totally focussed on signings now...
  12. 8 PAUL MCGRATH (Manchester United to Aston Villa, £400,000, 1989) McGrath liked a drink, Alex Ferguson did not like drinkers. McGrath was shown the door at Old Trafford and went on to prove that he was the best defender of his generation. Admitted in his autobiography that he often played while drunk. Frightening to think how good he would have been without dodgy knees and the refueling problem. blueyes.gif
  13. They don't need convincing the money is there....We're falling down at the final stage ie getting players to accept terms. However I'm wildly optimistic we'll have what we need in the next weeks.
