  1. Computer says no Does it make that sickening noise though?
  2. Hype is made by media and consumed by fans. Regardless of the hype, the eventual transfer feed 10M paid on Kuyt is a very good business for Liverpool and how could someone say that he hasn't lived up to his price tag? Now 5M on Damien Duff is a bad bad business, regardless of the hype and reputation he has. Had we sell Milner it would be another bad bad business. I don't think in any scenario £10m for what has turned out to be an average striker is good business. Kuyt was one of them bought to make a differance he hasn't Liverpool will finish 3/4 again. Tier one strikers are hard to come by...IMO Martins has much more to offer as a goalscorer than Kuyt or Bambi heart Kalou who shits himself as soon as he sees the goal.

Every manager that gets a chance at a big club has to prove themselves at a smaller club first. I'd agree that there are no guarantees, but over-achieving with a smaller club is the best indicator that you can have. One thing that may be counting against Allardyce is his image. He looks and sounds like a traditional English manager, but in fact he seems to be very receptive to new ideas and anything that can give him an advantage. He's like Ferguson in that respect - more clever and sophisticated than he looks. I agree, Allardyce isn't as big a cunt as he looks. However, I still don't think he's the best man for the job. Appointing Allardyce because he's better than Roeder I don't think is the solution to this clubs ills. Souness was the pits, lets get somebody else, Glenn is the pits but slightly better lets get him, na he's crap... lets get Allardyce just because he's slightly better. It reminds me of my teenage years......I binned one girl because I could go out with a prettier one, then I chucked her because I had a slightly better shag lined up.....Lots of shags but not really going anywhere. Newcastle United need a marriage, and thats finding the right long term partner - with the sum of the parts greater than the individual. Is Allardyce the man to partner our club? I don't think so. Where is that partner? I don't know that either .. .. but what I do know is that if you do keep on going for a quick shag then eventually you get the clap. All the waffle aside what are your valid reasons for not wanting Allardyce?

Sounds like a lovely bloke and I like his style and wish him every success. But Brazilian football IS in the blood. blueyes.gif

    An Indi thread killer special.
  6. It's not about changing for the sake of it. The incumbent is taking the club backwards.

Trappatoni would make a good DOF as would Houllier, they are the types who like a good overhaul.
  8. oh yes he will. Kuyt has had a decent, if not great first season. The one issue is his lack of pace, but Liverpool would have known about that when they signed him. So it obviously isn't a huge issue to them. Of the strikers we have now, Crouch and Kuyt should be here for the long term, both are good strikers that both offer a very different style of play, and if Liverpool get a good goal scorer in, there is no reason whatsover to suggest that Kuyt wouldn't be a regular. He will be. They have two good all rounders who work their arses off for the team are are good for 15 - 20 goals each. What Liverpool need is a bit more variation in their forwards, and a bit more quality to add to what they have. But hell - who doesn't need a bit more quality eh! Crouch will be sold and Kuyt will step down the pecking order when Villa and one other arrive. Kuyt is ok and has done a goodish job, but for me hasn't lived upto the hype when it seemed 2/3 years ago 12 clubs were after him. ITK? No, just guesswork. Well done. You want something?
  9. Erm, so did Bobby Robson - did he not publicly decline the job when Keegan left? Didn't stop Shepherd going back 2-3 years later and then appoint him. I think people are getting too hung up on Shepherd supposedly holding a grudge aginst someone who has turned him down previously. Addmitedly, Bobby was at Barca at the time, but its all hearsay as to the reasons that SA declined previously - perhaps it was due to a 'then' feeling of loyalty towards Bolton? MJ For he millionth time it was SHEARER.

Nothing great about that article whatsoever. Well constructed no insight.
  11. Cheers Mate. We're all on here to have a bit of fun/chat about our passions.
  12. Believe girls believe. For we slay our marytrs as we slay our prophets..... I am here because I bring the new reality.
  13. You're all hedging your bets and hanging on to your teddy bears to avoid dissapointment.
  14. I'm not ITK. But get yersel down the betting office fella.
  15. Sam Allardyce will be our manager next season.

    Michael Carrick

Carrick is good at a lot of things and his passing is excellent. Not good enough to take on Pirlo/Ambrosini. That is the story here.
  18. There is no legal minefield that is all speculation and Sam probably would have sued the BBC if he had the time and the inclination. The only thing in the way now is Gartside and how much compensation he pushes for. They probably have an agreement regarding joining another PL club etc...
  19. You know - everyone knows - that you aren't ITK, and that you are only saying he'll be here becayse he "has a contract". As if thats ever stopped a manager being sacked. Not that at all. I just don't reckon he'll get sacked. Or resign. FS has seen through Roeder. He's gone man.
  20. You won't cause you'll be banned. mackems.gif
  21. I reckon he will but then I was 110% convinced O'Neill would be our boss aswell. G there is too much development at too many clubs atm, FS realises we're going to get left behind even by the likes of Villa and Everton. Spurs are ahead of us already.
  22. Good coach but Freddy is probably adverse to going Dutch.
  23. If Scholes had any sense he should have baited him into a fight and got him banned from the final.
  24. At Liverpool he's scored ONE more goal than Martins. He is 4/5 years older and he has NO pace. Liverpool have struggled all season with their lacklustre forward line. He will NOT be first choice next term. OH yes he WILL. If he's better than the £30/40m worth of striking talent coming in he will.
