  1. So thats what RM stands for? Roeder Manager. Can I have a vote back? I'm not judging any of our players under Roeder. It's like looking at a painting in the dark. I just know the likes of Emre and Zoggy are capable of so much more. Our biggest priority is left back with smooth distribution and a sexy girlfriend.
  2. I have no doubts over the long term he will be a better bet than Kalou.
  3. He isnt consistant but then I doubt many would be here this season. He has still been a ray of hope on a number of occasions this season. Kuyt will never score the self made goals Martins is capable of....That must be clear.
  4. Aye. Drogba has been immense again this season. He is the fuse for Chelsea. Mourinho has a problem now that his system doesn't really accomodate two strikers and needs two winger/forwards either side of a lone striker.
  5. True. But I thought it unfair to include him as he hasn't started that many games.
  6. I think it's close. Tbf to Martins, Kujit has been playing for Liverpool all season and our boy for a Sunday league side. Martins has got the appropriate first touch anyway Scathing. He's got a bad 3rd touch man mackems.gif I'd rather have him to Kalou, but with Kujit it's close. Over all of these I would have taken Anelka mind.

  9. I was going to put Anelka instead of Kalou but couldn't bear the incessant whinning about 'his attitude'. Silly me, giving you too much credit Watching K2 last night I wasn't overly impressed tbh. I am beginning to realise you know me too well Alexia. What about Martins versus Man City (iirc)? Difficult to play any worse than he did against much lesser opposition. I didn't think either Kuyt (in particular) or Kalou were all that bad last night but I wouldn't judge a player on one match either _ I've seen Kalou a few times now and he does look flimsy and likely to waste chances. The thing about Kujit I like is that he does a lot for the team even if he isn't playing that well...He does look busy. But in all reality Liverpool will buy another 2 strikers this summer. Kuyt won't be first choice.

  12. Kalou might even have been free!!! Shit. THREAD CLOSED.
  13. Well, Mourinho could have done what Benitez did and fucked off the League Cup. Also, questions have to be asked about the lack of quality/back-up in key areas - particularly upfront and at centre-half. Definately. This small squad (Mourinho patented) just doesn't work in the PL...Games are much more frenetic and take their toll and threre are a lot more games as well.
  14. I think they will sell him. Too slow. I still like him, but at the highest level I don't think he has it.
  15. Not convinced by Martins!!111 I personally think Anelka has been the best value in recent striker purchases.
  16. It is becoming clear that Kuyt and Kalou ( K2) have been respective bad purchases not just with respect to the sums involved, but also that they aren't really looking like they are suited/going to do it in the PL. Compare these two to Martins who has has put in solid performances in amongst the the bad games which is normal in a new league and taking into consideration his age. Although if £15m was offerred for Martins I'd be tempted to sell, he has by and large been far better value than the striker Liverpool and Chelsea have recently added to their books. What think you?
  17. What people need to realise also is that this Chelsea side tends to run out of gas near the end of the season...Just too many games and too much intensity....Bigger squad is the only ans.
  18. All this will be academic in about 3 weeks.
  19. Tbh they didnt move from there chairs all 2nd half, We were getting dominated yet Roeder didnt have a clue how to change things. Aye, as far as I'm concerned, Roeder has two touchline poses. Sat on a seat not knowing what the f*** to do, or standing with his hands in his pockets not knowing what the f*** to do. I suppose at least Pearson's lying down shows he has a bit more variety in his not knowing what the f*** to do poses. To be fair he was probably bored shitless. I expect he had to endure "Nige, what do we do? Any ideas Nige? Any ideas at all?" in a whining cockney accent for 45 minutes
  20. Tbh both Liverpool and Chelsea play boring but effective football. It was clear that Chelsea took more risks, but generally yes I agree. I thought Liverpool were the team who played the better attacking football. Chelsea just hoofed it to Drogba before Robben and Wrigh-Phillips came on. Only one in the box at home?I agree Liverpool had a good spell in the first half and I was surprised at Pennant who played the best I've seen him for Liverpool. But as the match went on Mourinho made much more of the attacking subs..Robben/SWP...Liverpool swapped Pennant for the dour Alonso and I had a feeling they would be happy with pens. I don't think either side took many risks but Liverpool did take more earlier in the tie and Chelsea didn't until it was almost too late. I thought Chelsea's football was dreadful long-ball stuff though. Liverpool were marginally better to watch. It was pretty bad football all-round. Never seen so much long ball in a CL semi. I agree they both played 2nd ball football. Bellers and Crouch will be out in the summer by the looks of things.
