  1. He's just a realist, I agree with what he said above and pretty much everything else he says. Emre is so overrated on here, and even more so since he's been injured/out the team. He's scored 4 goals in 58 games for us, thats rubbish for this so called creative midfielder. I bet his assist count isn't much better either. He has played under two of the worst managers in christendom and often in a depleated team and 20 yards too deep.
  2. The problem is that if he does go there aren't any decent replacements under £8-10m. The only other player we have with a spark of creativity and vision is Solano.
  3. Wot? This: As if you didn't know. You know full well I haven't bothered to read anything about it. I do. You've got to be more careful Parks, there's innocent, unquestioning minds about, you wouldn't want to corrupt them, would you? The way it seems to be reading is that Fat five freddy and his entourage will be the short term beneficiaries and long term it will be the club in the sense that there must be revenue stream tie ins. I still think it is a good venture for us. I wasn't mocking your post btw. You don't need to tell me that Parks, I'd have hoped you'da known that. I'm sure there will be revenue streams, even I don't think Fred's that incompetent!! I'm just surprised at how everyone seems to be assuming that this is the deal of the millennium based upon zero actual information. I'm also a bit worried about how low many people have set their expectations for it, a "free" extension of the ground is a shitty deal if that's all we get, yet people are raving about it like Fred's bought Manhattan from the Lenape for $24!! I thought Manhattan island was still owned by the Queen.
  4. Some info is outdated and I have slightly modified opinions now but by and large I would love to have anyone of the excellent and decent candidates over Glenn Roeder. Wouldn't mind any of Roy Keane either. I like your list of excellent candidates, I'd add Hiddink and Koeman to that. I wouldn't have Sacchi on it and I'd also add Magath who is a free agent. blueyes.gif

  6. Walton is from Barclays and I thought he was more football development related...But I guess this broadly falls into that.

  8. Financially the Dutch league might as well be called the liliput league fella.
  9. Can't find any loopholes with that statement. Our board are a load of spin-doctors, not a load of liars. Essentially, we have secured (pending planning permission) a stadium expansion that will not cost us, at least not on a level that would bankrupt the club. There needn't be strings attached with this investment. A long enough lease, and I'm think 50+ years here, and permission to use the clubs brand is probably all many investors would require. Quite right James. As I said earlier a MASTERSTROKE form fat five freddy. blueyes.gif Plus the spinoffs and brand development oppurtunities will be boundless. I mean I'm surprised the coucil or the E.U. haven't been roped in (maybe they have)...But you mention job creation and money falls from the trees. so you concede you never would have thought of it if you had bought NUFC witrh your euromillions? It's the first thing I would have done tbh. Sorry 2nd thing after sacking Rodent and hiring a top class manager. Tbh if the area is condusive this kind of thing is par for the course...I will admit I didn't think fat five had it in him.

  11. All well and good Indi...But what actually are we putting in other than offerring the lease for which there will be rent (don't forget).

  16. I think Martins suggested it he's got some mates back in Nigeria who are waiting to release the develoment funds mackems.gif It's a Martins/Baba consortium backed by conflict diamonds.
  17. Tbh if by some miracle FS decided on Van Gaal....We would brush them aside with a huge wad of cash...FS has more loose change than AZ have in the bank.
  18. What makes you think he is good manager? Didn't he bring trophies also for Liverpool when he manage in there? In fact he is quite decent at Lyon also? it might be not as great as Paul Le Guen... but he not much worst than Le Guen... Im not sure how long he was manager at Liverpool but as far as i remember he only won the Uefa cup,Fa cup,Carling cup and the Super cup of Europe.Apart from that his career at Liverpool was nightmare and im sure that all of Liverpool's supporters were happy when he resigned About Lyon...They have played in the last 2 semifinals in the Champions league and this season when Houllier was in charge they were eliminated too early when alot of people though that they will reach the final My personal opinion is that Houllier is average manager.Maybe not as bad as Roeder of course but still not good enough Cobblers. blueyes.gif
  19. Felix Magath keen to work in the Premier League. http://www.sportweek.nl/detail.asp?groupid=2&newsid=26637 Felix Magath zou graag willen werken in Engeland. De thans werkloze trainer zegt dit in Bild. Magath loodste Bayern München twee seizoenen achtereen naar de dubbel, maar werd vlak na de winterstop ontslagen." First bit says he'd like to work in England.
