It's not arguable. We bought him to make a profit and we will. We've just lost £100m partly due to him not being good enough in the Premier League.
-
What was Carr's last successful signing btw? Sissoko? And even that's arguable

How do you decide on who's fit for premier league purpose? Danny Simpson has a premier league winner's medal round his neck right now, did you predict that? I think we all predicted that we would probably struggle to score goals with a 21 year old kid that's new to the league as our main striker this season. Yeah I did as well. That's why I didn't advocate selling Cisse unless we signed a proven striker which we didn't. An ageing Cissé who hasn't been motivated here for 2 years and spent large spells out injured last season. Not the two most reliable strikers IYAM.

Maybe they'll win the title again next year then. I wonder what the odds are. Leicester, just like 75 % of the league, didn't sign players last season to try and win the league. They just happened to do it anyway.

Tbf, Armstrong has barely played in a level above the Championship and you could argue that Perez and Mitrovic failed in the PL (as they both featured fairly heavily in a team that was relegated), hence not being proven. Not saying that I think they will struggle in the Championship, in fact quite the opposite, but it's not that daft to say that they are unproven.

But players and managers that Ashley wanted him to find. Players with re-sale value and managers who are yes men. Carr is just doing what he's told. I'm pretty certain the players on his list at 1/2/3 would be amazing signings for us. Lacazette,Aubameyang etc If that's the case, why the massive lob on for the likes of Thauvin then? He knocked us back and knocked us back, wasn't until he basically had any other choice but to come here that he finally signed. Turned out to be completely unfit for the squad and manager* and was on the first plane back to France. That is some truly shocking scouting, and it's all on him. Clearly not far down his list either. *Speaking of the manager, his situation was actually eerily similar to Thauvin's, yet Carr kept his stiffy for him and that basically relegated us.

How long did it take us to confirm McClaren? Think it must have been about a week into June IIRC. Nice to have this sorted a couple of weeks earlier, as the pathetic pre-season planning was a big part of why we were so bad last year.

Still can't quite believe it

Been some talk in the press that some of Rafa's staff has been looking at places to live in the north east. Would be surprised to see them leave, but even if they do, I'm sure Rafa will get someone of equal calibre in.

A point away? Progress

"When I finish this press conference I will start working". I don't even think he's bullshitting there

He loves the North East press

"A new project, a new challenge, because I can see the possibility of the club"

Does anyone know if any of the radio stations or Sky will be streaming it?

Our current team under Rafa beat third place finishers Tottenham, drew away to in form Liverpool and drew to Man City at home. This squad under Rafa will walk the Championship IMO, not that that doesn't mean I hope we ship some useless fuckers out and replace them with players Rafa want.
