    Danny Guthrie

He's still been very effective when played out wide tbh.
  3. It seems like they only send people to do live commentary at 1, sometimes 2 games. The game thats being covered is always the one with the longest highlights, for example our game against Watford. All the others are just narrated over the top, which I suppose is fair enough considering they have the rattle through 3 leagues and fit in time to 'analyse' and read out silly texts and emails. They only send extra cameras to one game (plus any games that have been live on TV), which gets extended highlights and commentary, so the risk they take is selecting a game that could end up being a shit 0-0. The others just have one camera, which is why they only get short highlights, which is unfortunate when it ends up 6-1. Yep. That game with the extra camera is the one that is televised outside the UK as well. Should hopefully be us again this weekend considering it's a "derby" and all.
  4. Agree The likes of Stoke goes to places looking for a draw by defending, Villa goes in to games looking to win by defending. Massive difference, and Villa for me is one of the most entertaining sides to watch in the Premier League. Much prefer the direct nature that Villa and Man U (obviously better at doing it, especially when they had Ronaldo) attack by than the likes of Arsenal and Spurs who prefer to pass the opposition to death.
  5. Don't know at 21, but 10 years ago (think he's 29 now, so at 19), he was with Swedish second division club Hässleholm.
  6. Me too. Was an inch away from having Arteta as well.
  7. Would love to see Villa - Spurs in the final.
  8. Easy money, looks like Rosenborg will be a certain money maker for me this season as well. So pleased the Norwegian league is starting up again, silly odds + predictable games = sexy money. Keep us updated
  9. Chelsea, Everton, Villa. Not confident though.
  10. Arsenal -1.5, West Ham and Man U
  11. You also forgot to mention that the US will be one the fittest teams at the WC too. If there's one thing we do well as Americans it's training and fitness. How's the USNT calendar going to work? Since the MLS will be playing until right before the WC. In Sweden, we have to start our league a couple of weeks early so the players (the two or three that will be going ) going to the World Cup will have enough time to prepare. Think it's FIFA's directives that no games can be played after around the 15th of May, would assume the same would go for the MLS.

    Habib Beye

    Beye can fuck off IMO.
  13. Bellamy is another one, I always laugh when he goes mouthing off. Brilliant character IMO, but a bit of a cunt.
  14. Agree, the World Cup is brilliant. I'll watch as much as I can. I'll probably work most of Englands games though, but the atmosphere in the pub will be amazing, so it'll be worth it.
  15. Really proud of myself for staying away from betting today. I couldn't find any games that I felt confident in winning in, better to just stay clear then. If only I could do this more often, maybe I could actually start making some profits instead of just being around even all the time.

Didn't see the game, but he played the full 90 minutes.
  17. Or we'll meet a decent team who'll put us to the f***ing sword. I prefer to see it as one of our worst performances under Capello and we beat the best African team 3-1, coming from behind. Doesn't make them a great side. Probably better than the rest of our group though.
  18. Really? Thought he was our best player by far in the first half. Brilliant ball played through to Walcott for Lampards chance early on, then again a few minutes later for Defoe. Nothing exceptional, but a decent performance. Of course in the form he is in, it wasn't as good as we had expected. Thought Carrick was brilliant when he came on, kept possession incredibly well and was a massive reason for that turn around. While Barry didn't have a bad game today, it's Carrick and Lampard in the middle for me come June.

England: Green, Brown, Upson, Terry, Baines; Walcott, Lampard Barry, Gerrard; Rooney, Defoe Considering Walcotts form, it's shocking that he's starting. Saying that, he did well in the qualifiers so I can see why Capello keeps him in there.

If he's awesome, then Sven is a god and that's not logic. So no he isn't awesome, he's a boring, conservative manager who will be happy to win Nigeria a couple of points at the world cup. Otherwise you have to define awesome for me. Spot on. He's got his positives and negatives. Sweden's struggled several times against poor opposition, but have done well against decent sides, up til when the pressure really is on. I'd say he's done about as well as you could expect from a Swedish manager, bar the 2002 World Cup, when Sweden did a lot better than expected during the group stages and this latest WCQ when Sweden underperformed. Don't expect much exciting football or him giving youngsters a chance, though he might change this a bit with Nigeria
  21. Feel for the fans, but all to happy to take their undeserved place in the premierleague. how is it undeserved ? Arguably it's undeserved because they've spent far beyond their means on the players that has kept them in the league. Not saying I agree with the sentiment mind. Isn't it a bit "glass houses" for a Newcastle fan - or, for that matter, a fan of about three quarters of the teams in the Premier League, including the one I support - to criticise Portsmouth for spending far beyond their means, though? This isn't just Portsmouth's problem, it is football's problem, and if something doesn't change soon, it will all go to tit. Fair point, but there's quite a difference when a club hasn't been able to pay their players for several months this year IMO. Not saying the overspending doesn't need to stop, but there's quite a difference between Pompeys overspending and anyone elses.
