I'd prefer it to be the other way around tbh. The game is fair during 180 minutes of football, but the home team in the second leg gets a big advantage if it goes to extra time, so to even that out, get the away goal rule in extra time only.

Personally, I think every team should be forced to play with at least 5 strikers and no more than two defenders, including the goal keeper. Then there'd be loads of goals and extremely entertaining. I just think they're bad because you won't be able to make a decent evening out of watching football. Definitely agree with your second point. If the foul warrants a straight red, then of course it should be received, but if it's only a bad tackle to stop a goal scoring opportunity, a yellow, or maybe no card at all, is enough. If it's outside the penalty area it should be a free kick and a red card though.
