You're more of an England fan than a Germany fan, aren't you? Yeah, sure. Was supporting Germany in the final but I didn't go crazy or anything. Still, great scenes all over the country and nice to see Löw proving his critics wrong. Are you German though? Doesn't make any sense really, if you're German why would you support England? I know a few Germans who support England. England's usually shit, like, but they also (mostly) have a "go for the win, play fair, and fight for every ball" attitude that is appealing.

The coked-up motherfucker refused to do the press conference until they'd got rid of the "ball boy". (in German and Spanish) Obviously, the German press had a field day after Müller tore the Argies to pieces

Bedlam outside. And that's just outside my door, at the edge of the action. Think I'll head a bit further in
-
IIRC, in 2010, they made sure to double up on Messi and Schweini followed him around whenever Argentina had the ball, but otherwise they played their game and destroyed Argentina.

Aye. Clubs being "owned" by the fans helps a lot. Cheap as chips to get into games, and you can have a beer while you stand and watch.

De Telegraaf says it is a sell-on clause. Bad negotiating by Ajax, then.

Developmental fees probably. He was with them from the age of 20. Groningen get €500K, too. Same thing?
-
Classy. That's, what, 3%? They definitely should have held out for more than that.

We might have got £90m if he weren't such a liability

"A truly shameless transaction" What on earth is that supposed to mean?

Actually want the Germans to win this one. If nothing else, there'll be a good party.

Looks like he'll be sitting out his suspension at Barca. No idea why they think they need Suarez on top of Neymar and Messi. Scary front line.
-
Hope we don't waste the Suarez money

Bayern M. Mostly this. It helps that they take the national side seriously in Germany. They really shook things up after the humiliation in 2000, and the DFB (German FA) isn't beholden to the league, like in England, and has much better support from most clubs. Also, Löw has been in the job for about 10 years, with a constant core of players experienced in his system, so there's some real consistency there.

An "interesting" stat that keeps cropping up: In the 4 World Cups he's played in, Klose has scored more than the entire England side

So, Liverpool have a player that they supported when he bit someone, claiming that the length of the ban was extreme and down to the FA and Premier League. He then doesn't learn his lesson and does it again. Liverpool now have a better chance of winning the league. Why should a team ever benefit when one of their players bites someone? Because why not? It's not like the punishment is going to cause Suarez to mend his ways, is it? Fucker's done it three times now. Everyone knows he's off his trolley, yet most clubs would still give their eye teeth for the bitey sod because he's so fucking good. So he's still going to earn millions. Other clubs aren't going to lose interest just because he once again proved he's as mental as everyone already knew he was… Suarez himself just gets to take an extended (paid) holiday. The punishment falls essentially on Uruguay and Liverpool, which—you would hope—is not really what was intended. Instead of banning him from games (which effectively only punishes his national and club sides), they should have fined him something painful (instead of half a week's wages) or forced him to play wearing a muzzle (well, forced him to seek professional help). If someone that are good at their job commits a crime, they should not be sent to jail because the punishment falls on their employers? Miss the point much? I said they should try to do something that punished the player more than his national/club side. Bans clearly aren't having the desired effect because the crazy bastard keeps doing it again.

Err, we have taken the negatives. Fella's missed a lot of games for us thanks to his antics. I'm just peeved that FIFA also banned him from domestic games. They don't do that too often. I was hoping for a lengthy ban on playing internationally, which would have been a bonus for us.
-
He's bitten three players once. Completely different thing.
-
Motherfucking FIFA Biggest ban ever? There's been a lot worse than that. Have they even ever banned a player from league games before? Totally over the top. Obviously, he wants banning, like, but from fucking training?
-
Eh? Ashley Cole, surely.

Schalke used to play "I will survive" when they scored. They have some really dodgy ones in the Bundesliga. Went to the Leverkusen–Liverpool CL game in 2005. The looks on the Liverpool fans' faces when Leverkusen scored and they started playing "Rockin' all over the world". They were all like, WTF??, for 20 seconds, and then we sang the song for the rest of the game Best one IMO is Hoffenheim: they play a drinking song "Was wollen wir trinken 7 Tage lang" (What do we want to drink all week long?)

Bayer has actually registered "Vizekusen" as a trademark for some reason. Interestingly, they were also the second team to play all possible fixtures in a season, Liverpool having beaten them to it the year before They must therefore have been the first side to have played all possible fixtures and won nothing, so there's that, I guess.
