Longstaff would also get in the Ireland squad so I'm not too impressed with the fact he got games for Burnley in that midfield and gets picked over Glenn Whelan.

I think he just meant if Bale was to accept a lower wage elsewhere he would have gone by now. As he's wanting a similar wage to what he has now it limits his options to leave.
