Have to say I've really started to appreciate Guthrie. Just wish he'd last for 90 mins, real asset on the ball and certain to create things when he plays.

Alan Smith had some good games in the championship. Even Shola looked good. They weren't 12 years old like Kadar.

Escape from this game with 3pts and we're in for one hell of a run in with Ba/Cissé back (just had a look at the table).

Krul Taylor Williamson Coloccini Santon Abeid Guthrie Vuckic Ben Arfa Jonas Best I can't stand seeing Shola up there again. Rather have 11 players that actually move and control the ball. Best will do as target man, backed up by the movement of Benny and Jonas. Guthrie and Vuckic to pull the strings, Vuckic more license to go forward. Also, Ryan Taylor can cross the ball, which at least gives him one attribute more than Simpson.

Shame about Kadar, really looked the part in the Championship.

The ideal thing for us to do in the summer would be to keep Best as a target back-up, shift Shola and Löven and bring someone young and pacy in to be backup for Cissé. In time, hopefully some of the academy lads will make that step up, but I'd still get someone in the summer rather than wait for Hooper or Campbell to join up with the first team.
