This two to stay up crap worries me slightly.. I mean we have a team already that should be midtable not loitering at the bottom. Also I hope our players don't read into those quotes either..

This to be honest, I hate 4-4-2 because pardew can't get his players to play in it without smashing the ball 40yards but right now, anything that helps us stay up will do. Plus if we could actually sign De Jong, he could play off Cisse and help the midfield link to Cisse.

Santon on either wing is a lot better than what we have for the moment, he already does the attacking for him and jonas(when he plays).

I think it's because we can all see what way this is heading and we can't do anything about it. Maybe they'll shock us with a couple more signings, though I doubt it and we'll probably end up with the cheap option/no one. If we actually had a manger we could trust to get the best out of the players we currently have then I doubt we'd be worrying so much about signings but we don't so who we get in will basically say if we're going to stay up or not.

So our backups are two players who aren't going to be leaving their respective clubs? (if what is reported is true).

I actually think I would laugh if this happened! Was there not a report the other day that they had rejected an approach from us for him? (Im sure i read it on here a few days ago).

I'd be more excited about Belhanda than remy tbf That list of strikers/wide players post above looks rather uninspiring.

We can still stay up but I think we have to just play the shitest football you have ever seen and grind 1-0 victories out. Pardew has no ability in making us useful at attacking, especially without making us concede 20,000 goals while we're at it so as much as I don't want to see it, i'll take as many games as it takes like v norwich if it means we stay up. Relegation at this point would be worst than the last time, we'd loose out on too much financially.

Problem with this would be is where would he play? I mean he can't play on the wing, and if we go 4-4-2 we'll just have the same problem as with ba imo.

Other targets.. Wasn't our supposed 2nd option told he wasn't going to be allowed to leave in january?

That pass by carrick was awesome

Carrick is really underrated because he sits deep everyone thinks he should be sticking his foot in etc but he's a fantastic passer of the ball. He'd be good in Spain IMO.

We still wouldn't break 40pts even if we did all that. Might be enough of course. I don't think any of the 3 at the bottom will get 40 points to be honest, but with the way we are playing I don't think we will either.

I still don't think they'll sack him any time soon. A month or so in the relegation zone might change things like. Maybe the Villa game then. If we don't win either, that's it. I can't stand pardew, but I'm hoping we manage to scrap 2 wins from our next 2 games because if we don't quite frankly I'm not sure we will be able to stay up if we don't.
