  1. It's always nice to have something to look forward to
  2. Is that an opinion, or have you read some info on it? Just a hunch.
  3. Still expecting business to be done late and another 4/5 incomings.
  4. Or it could be the difference between signing or not signing a new centre forward. I highly, highly doubt that. It could be the difference between signing a £15m striker or a £21m striker though. I don't think this money will end up in the transfer budget, and it shouldn't be. It should be used primarily on the youth setup. How would you know this man? I'm out.
  5. Or it could be the difference between signing or not signing a new centre forward. No chance. Would you like to back that up with a reasoned argument or are you just going to continue to make assertions without anything logical to back them up?
  6. Or it could be the difference between signing or not signing a new centre forward. I highly, highly doubt that. You doubt that it could be? Howay man, it's obvious what I'm saying, it's not as simple as saying 'we're getting 6m for this player therefore we're spending it on this other player'. If it goes in the pot of money that Rafa can spend, the pot gets bigger.
  7. Lots of business will be done late, including us.

  9. Because we need to stay up this season and Rafa can probably use the money? If we are desperate for £6m in todays climate, then we really have financial issues as a club. Firstly, you've made an assumption that choosing 6m over a 17 year old equals desperation, you don't know that. Secondly, we have well established financial issues, the chief one is Mike Ashley. I'm not saying I approve of this sale, I've never seen the lad play and I agree with those saying that we should hold on to local talent. But we know that there are limits to how much Rafa can spend, and it's fair to assume that incoming transfer money is added to the pot. That being the case I can see the logic in taking the money, given the circumstances. Especially considering the report in the chron yesterday which stated that he'd turned down our contract offer.

  11. That said I think we'll get a CF as well, albeit for a modest amount
  12. Rafa prioritises organisation , he'll prioritise a GK imo

Imagine how his Mam and Dad feel today, superb.
  14. Back in the real world, being outrageously tolerant of wasters leads to atrocious squad harmony. Actual professionals despise it. Such a shame what he continues to throw away. Sad
  15. Or prices being ridiculous this summer. When they set the budget and how much goes to each player they probably didnt know the fees would be so high this summer. Especially if Prem players are being targeted Throw in that the market hasn't really got going yet. Many players we were linked with early haven't moved anywhere yet and some of the clubs you'd expect to be in and around us have done little. Think there's something in this, players/agents/clubs holding out for bigger deals later in the window as they know the money has increased so much. Expecting most of the deals to be done in the final week. Totally agree its also why I think the transfer window should close a few days before the season starts Undoubtedly. Unfortunately deadline day is part of the entertainment now, though.

  17. I think we really need a commanding GK to give the defence a bit of confidence.

They know what they're doing when the transfer has a reasonable chance of making a profit.
  19. They probably just think he'll eventually get better at it, based on what VI said about him before he went to Villa and the fact he's genuinely thick from a football intelligent pov i don't share the same confidence. It's more of a hope thing than anything based on any sort of evidence. Yeah, one of them also told me McClaren was the best manager they ever had That's true, he won them their only trophy. Thanks, Captain Joyless

  21. Fwiw, just spoken to two Boro fans at work who don't want to see Traore go. Whilst admitting his end product is more often than not, pretty shit, they have fairly high hopes for him.
  22. Oh, great, this has turned into the 'merits of ITK posts' thread Take it to PM's eh lads?
