  1. I’ve rewatched the first half and again, we were abysmal, the worst I’ve ever seen us play at home. I find this very hard to believe. I can think of the Portsmouth defeat under SA and the Liverpool 0-6 straight away. There must be plenty more. Nah, those were bad performances but again our players did f*** all on the ball, not a thing. It was literally 35 minutes of Man City knocking it about, scoring, threatening and us just kicking it away when it come to us. Nothing football. You’re saying it was the worst tactical display you’ve seen at home, not the worst performance. No I didn’t, there was no tactics unless you call camping out on your own box and hoofing it when we had the ball tactics. It was total surrender. Shelvey shooting from kick off was like saying this is our only opportunity to shoot. There was no tactics? Righto. How can you go on endlessly about loving Rafa and then say that?

  4. I suppose it depends how you define a ‘chance’ to score. Personally, I don’t include shots from outside the box as a general rule. I was sitting parallel with our goal in the first half and I saw them score from an exquisite pass and a tight angle finish, a great save from Elliot from a set piece, and Aguero hit the post from outside the box. They didn’t seem to make much from open play other than long range shots and the goal. Going in at half time the general consensus where we were sitting was that the game plan worked well.
  5. Happy to trust Shelvey though who has the same mental flaws and has been sub par all season. You’re assuming trust is limited to a disciplined approach to the laws of the game, that’s only half the story.
  6. Disgusting We owe him nothing. Our manager doesn’t trust him, so he doesn’t play.
  7. Agreed, win here and we’ve got 21 points from 21 games, which sets us up nicely for a few incoming players () and hopefully improved performances.
  8. The match thread (can't remember who we played) where Cisse equalised in the last minute is comedy gold
  9. He’s just not very good. Won’t be missed.
  10. 2, will drop to 0 with a few decent signings
  11. When the club stops feeling the affects of his tenure. Technically we have really. It's Ashley's tenure that we're feeling the wrath of. Think i disagree with that. Pardew being there for as long as he was strengthened Ashley's grip on the club a lot. That was Ashley's doing not Pardew's though. Ashley calls the shots not Pardew with relation to whether he was in the managers seat. Aye Ashley was in charge but Pardew made things a lot more comfortable for him by being the ultimate yes man, in Ashley's eyes he was perfect for the job. Having a puppet who will spout shite to the media and tell barefaced lies to the fans is unvaluable to a boss like Ashley. Pardew's job was to keep fans' expectations down, rave about our better players to the media so we could sell them for more money and say nice things about Mike to try and keep the heat off.. In fairness to him he did that pretty well and ever since he left Mike has struggled to keep things ticking over. Some of his moves since have stunk of desperation - The interview on Sky before the West Ham game, appointing McLaren and Moncur onto "the board", spending big money in the January window on Townsend and Shelvey, then finally being forced to appoint a respectable manager in Rafa, something he never wanted to do as good managers ask questions, demand transfer budgets and generally make life uncomfortable for a dictator like the fat man. Something he never experienced in the 4-5 years the Pardew was here. If Ashley eventually does go in the next few months then i'll always see Pardew leaving as a significant step towards it. Aye, fair dues. I'm not a defender of Pardew FWIW, I just don't get why so much energy is wasted on the prick. Because he made me hate football.
  12. Between 80 and 100 million. Pretty easy, to be honest, you could have done that yourself.
  13. I think it's done, based on the photo's of the meeting at the restaurant. Everyone cuddling each other, fist-pumps, leaving with carry outs, etc.

    Rafa Benítez

Have total faith in him. He'll get what he needs in January and we'll finish somewhere comfortable.
