  1. tbf Wenger shut up shop with 20 minutes to go today, if Pardew did that he would be slated. Quite pleased with the performance today overall, thought the result could easily have gone either way. He'd be applauded for shutting up shop 5 minutes later than usual.
  2. Just seen this. For fuck's sake man, what an arsehole. Cunt (not you Dave)
  3. Yep, this is a big problem and it hampered us loads against Stoke in the first half.
  4. Fair enough from Wullie mind if I did say that, my memory is atrocious so I honestly can't remember it. I still absolutely hate wins being put down to luck but fuck it, I feel like shit, can't hear and just want to curl up and cry now anyway so apologies if I have overreacted Dr V That's alright mate, no hard feelings
  5. Pulled my calf muscle something rotten, hopefully will be ok by then.
  6. Allardyce has to go if they lose this, surely.
  7. We certainly had the rub of the green to get into that position and things weren't looking good at all on 40 minutes, but as I said earlier on you can only beat what's in front of you and we did that with aplomb, so good stuff. I'm watching MOTD and Shearer and Savage are both saying we were lucky to get all the decisions we did yesterday, not sure what their N-O usernames are but they're as manic-depressive Pardew-haters as anyone else on here going by the logic you're applying. Well if 'try too hard to be impartial' Shearer and 'wind up merchant' Savage said it how can anyone argue? I'd prefer to go on what I saw, neither of the sendings off were harsh and we could have had a few more decisions go our way but Atkinson basically felt sorry for them knowing there was no way back. Neither of the sendings off were harsh, but that doesn't change the fact that we were lucky to be playing Stoke on the day Whelan decided he wanted a bath after 40 minutes. You don't have to be a recipient of dodgy decisions to enjoy good fortune. When is anyone not lucky? That time Cabaye catches it just right, Krul dives at just the right time, the linesman gets the difficult decision spot on, the opposition players get sent off for stupid tackles etc.. How you've got the stones to call my post desperate and then follow up with shite like this, I'll never know. Good footballing technique and officiating is the same as an opposition player talking himself into getting sent off and us benefitting massively from it? Cracking stuff. Just give it up man. A team winning because the opposition gets someone rightly sent off being deemed as luck. Aye, right I'm the one full of shite you will find a hell of a lot more people agreeing with you on RTG fella, we are always lucky according to them. You're completely ignoring the context though (it's almost as if the score is the only thing that matters?). That Whelan sending off wasn't your normal run of the mill red card, and you know it. He actively got himself a red when it could have been avoided and it was a massive turning point in the game, a game which we were second best in up until that point. We were lucky it happened. I don't know how many different ways I/others can put across that point of view. You're not an idiot, I've read your posts for years so I know that. Just seems like you totally overreacted to my initial post and you haven't got the balls to admit it. Balls to admit what? We clearly have different interpretations to what luck is, to me it isn't the fact they made poor decisions. That is how most football games are won or lost. Luck is a freak course of action like the Sunderland beach ball thing I mentioned previously. That you overreacted to my post. Looks like your definition of luck is different to mine and most others. Interested to hear your response on the Southampton game, that should shed a bit more light on it.

  9. Why won't we agree? Because we can never have good or bad fortune? What sort of world is that you're living in? All I (and others) have said is that we were lucky that Stoke self imploded. There's been as many posts by the same people saying we did a really good job of capitalising on the situation, me included. You totally overreacted to the initial post and now you won't admit it.
  10. So we can be unlucky not to win, like we apparently were against Southampton, but you get the hump as soon as someone says we were lucky to win against Stoke? He's not backing down on this one, oh no. My post was desperate, I'm absolutely DESPERATE to slag off pardew, even though I've put on record my support for him and desire for him to do well. I'm desperate for him to fail, man, desperate.

  13. what so saying something now counts in an innocuous foul? 'cause that's what it was like, it was f*** all There was no attempt to play the ball. Thick as f*** on a yellow card. wasn't worthy of a second yellow, sorry like it just wasn't Should just agree to disagree. I think it was worthy of a second yellow purely because he told Cabaye that he was going to do him in front of the ref and then proceeded to foul him. It was thick as fuck. You're right, those at the game or watching it all in real time will understand that Whelan talked himself into a red card, I honestly couldn't believe what I was seeing when Hughes patted him on the back on his way off, it was one of the most idiotic things I've seen on a football pitch.
  14. I'm really happy with how things are going this season, I'd be pretty mental if I wasn't. I also think we were really lucky that Stoke self imploded yesterday, before we did a good job of capitalising on our luck in the second half. If that makes me desperate or hard to please, so be it.
  15. Having to explain this to someone I suppose CP40 is baffled?
  16. The most ridiculous thing I saw all day was Hughes patting him on the back while he was on his way to the dressing room. Absolutely astounding. I'd have been livid with my player for getting himself sent off in such a fashion.
  17. Yep, I agree with this. He made a good job of the situation in the second half, no doubt. But only a fool would deny that we were dealt a very strong hand after 40 minutes of being second best at home to Stoke. The Sissoko situation was a farce. I've posted a few times recently about how I really hope he's changed his outlook etc and the signs are encouraging in places. He's doing a good job this season, undoubtedly, but I reserve the right to call the luck he was afforded yesterday for what it was, it was LUCK. It should be possible to say that without being called 'desperate' to try and denigrate a manager I'm on record as really wanting to succeed.
  18. Shoulder barged the linesman I was at the match with a couple of family members who are Everton fans. I spent the day leading up to the match talking about Ben Arfa and telling them how lucky they were to see him. I was as smug as Pards at full time.
  19. Pretty desperate stuff there Dr V, hate this 'luck' shite. We are 18 games into the season, 6 points off top, 6th place in the league but the only reason we beat Stoke was luck. No way we would have won otherwise with their total domination You can keep your anguish, mate. We were shite in that first 40 minutes, second best to Stoke at home. I didn't say the only reason we beat Stoke was luck. I said the manager got lucky because they were in control and they completely gifted us the 3 points. We might have gone on to beat them in the second half if it'd been 11v11, we'll never know, but there's nothing harsh about saying he was dealt a massive slice of luck today, because he was. The Sissoko/Anita decision was just idiotic.
  20. It's stuff like leaving Sissoko on over Anita that makes him a bit shit. He got lucky today with Stoke self imploding.
