With the players we've got and will continue to get under Carr's guidance, more attractive does mean better. Attractive football obviously, but I remember Wigan up here this season and the first half was ridiculous. They must have played about 5-6 suicide balls from the keeper and defence because they're told to do that. Even when they went down to ten, they didn't really change and a better team than us in better form than us could have scored 10 that night. Fair enough. I think it's all pretty meaningless though. Only one thing matters, do you think he'd be better than Pardew?

Yep, I think Mick's right. Unfortunately I think we're heading for a Christmas sacking. My only hope is that they've already started thinking about who they'll bring in if they sack him, but mid season it's much harder. If we get the next appointment wrong as well we're going to set ourselves back pretty far.

His basic wage is pretty low by all accounts, can't imagine it would cost much at all to sack him. Probably relative to 1 or 2 league positions.

He'll go in the summer imo. He'll either request a transfer on footballing grounds and get it, while we get fed the 'impossible to hold on to players when sovereign states bid for them' line. Or, he'll want to stay and force the issue within the club about the state of our 'tactics' and Pardew will see to it that he's removed from the group.

Can anyone provide a reasonable argument as to why Martinez wouldn't be a better manager than Pardew with this set of players? I imagine we'll continue to bring in quick, technical players as well. There's fuck all quick or technical about Pardew football.

We need a manager who can change a game - this one can't and he's proved it time after time.... I'd settle for one that can win one, proactively.

Sadly this is the mentality of a lot of our fans. It's mental, absolutely mental. The lowering of expectations has really worked with the young ones especially. Or, controversially, they're just not hysterical? This elitist 'oh they just don't get it' attitude is horrific, man. Hysterical

I think we're still a way off that unfortunately. Most of the match day fans won't wake up until 10/15 games into next season imo. They're all expecting no injuries AT ALL next season and everything being sweet.
