  1. Has anyone mentioned yet that they weren't even that good? Just a bit of quick passing and movement off the ball, men against boys.
  2. There was lots of the type of standing up pointy shouty stuff you saw against Allardyce. Someone threw their scarf at him and it landed in the technical area. The kids in level 7 did the conga and sang about Obafemi Martins

And I'm 100% cancelling my ticket if he's here for the first game of next season.

My two most hated teams have embarrassed us at home in the last week. I will hate this bloke long, long after he ceases to be our manager.

It's happening like, very poisonous atmosphere here.

It's personal now, I fucking hate him. I'm sitting here surrounded by scousers having the time of their lives while my team can't string 3 passes together in their half. I hate him.

I'm sick of how much I want him gone, just at the point when most people in the office/I go to the match with are starting to agree with me.

True but does he think we are all stupid and believe injuries are to blame, are they to blame for hoofball, ridiculous team selections, crap football, defensive set ups that concede goals at a daft rate. Set pieces from hell. He's a useles prat. I doubt he gives much of a shit what we think, really. This is as good as it gets for him, he's trying to convince the people who have influence over his position that he's been hard done by. Aye, just got to hope they aren't that stupid. Graham Carr's not daft, just hope he's in the ear of the owner and just tells him the truth. Pardew has been useless and this squad deserve better and should be better than it has been. He doesn't watch our games.

This cycle comes and goes with people; some come back to being regular attendees/watchers, some drift off into other interests in their life and only read the scores in the paper. The same thing was written a thousand times after the Keegan fiasco, the 'novelty' of winning every other week in the Championship brought some people back/attracted others. The same thing was written a thousand times after Hughton was sacked and Pardew appointed/Carroll sold, the novelty of the 5th placed finish brought some people back/attracted others. Don't suppose it's much fun to feel so apathetic about a club you feel you're emotionally and intellectually invested in but perhaps you'll be brought back in the not too distant future. Great points Stu. To add to that though, the home crowds would be nowhere near what they are now if it wasn't for the large family section filling up many seats. These cheaper family options are what's keeping the gates up. Honestly and truthfully, our matchday group are so fed up with watching this drivel week in, week out. We really are to a man. I've never really been one for chasing a manager out, but these performances, given the squad we have, are easily the worst I've ever seen in many years following the team. The fans are fed up, the players obviously don't believe in what they are asking them to do, you don't looked forward to the match at all. Home games are slightly better but is there actually any point in going to away games? I'm on a rant now, but have you seen what he has Steven Taylor doing in front of the opposition goalkeeper when he's trying to line up his wall. It's plain classless, what you'd expect to see in the local park when two pub teams are playing. Please just get rid off him. Giving him a few months at the start of next season means we'll be playing catch up from October / November. GET RID! There's loads and loads of things to criticise Pardew for. You don't need to attribute something that Saylor learned from Nolan to him. I honestly think Saylor would do that whoever the manager was.
  10. Wouldn't have thought footballers got the train anywhere these days even reserve/youth players. A dose of reality does them no harm i guess, would have been fun for him if it still stops at Sunderland. Trains to Boro go via Darlington usually these days although some still do go via Sunderland. If you go direct you go through Sunderland, it's ten minutes quicker if you go to Darlington and change trains. This is one of my few areas of expertise.

I'm game like, but what could we do realistically?

Still don't get this "Pardew is a PR guru" stuff. The man is rubbish at interviews. Very uninspiring run of the mill rent-a-quote. Winning or losing. Some people fall for it though. How else do you explain the easy ride he's been getting for most of the season? Also fans of clubs he's managed in the past talk of him completely dividing opinion, it's the same thing here.

In before Ian saying there's no context to those quotes.

... is food for thought. I'm guessing you mean this in a "This is just us, it'll be the same if we get rid of Pards" kind of way? The shape of the club is one of the best it's ever been in, the owner in spite of being an apparently sadistic bellend has actually done wonders with us, a very good manager is the final piece of the puzzle that we need imo (maybe a new coaching staff too). In the past when we've limped over the line the whole club has been surrounded with turmoil, there's none of that now, everything is strangely calm. Personally I think this unreserved praise for Ashley/criticism for Pardew angle is a bit off. It can't be denied that the books look better than have in a while (yippee) but when you look at what Ashley's actually implemented since he's been here the two stand outs for me are sensible spending and advertising for his company (which he's entitled to do). I don't necessarily think that he just spends the bare minimum (as I used to think) otherwise I don't think we'd have seen new long contracts for Tiote/Krul or recruitment of Sissoko/MYM etc who must be on decent wages even though they were brought in for relatively cheap, but I still feel his priority is SD and always will be. Ashley has backed a great scout and well done to him for that, but lets not forget that Pardew is their man and he was specifically brought in to be their mouthpiece as well as the guy who picks the 11 on a Saturday. They want a 'stable' set up in the club so they can do what they want, when they want, footballing success is not the priority (I said all of this when Pardew was appointed and I still believe it). The reduction in expectation exercise that Pardew is always on comes right from the top. The club may be in the best financial shape it's been in for some time, but the ambition to do well on the pitch is arguably the lowest it's been in 25 years.

Are they discussing whether its a good idea to gloat about their inevitable champions league success, like they did when Marty joined?
  17. Going to the match has now become an absolute chore, I think looking forward to the derby had me in denial

To be fair, and I cannot stand Pardew, but this stuff all comes from the top,

Ever the diplomat Whey it's true isn't it? Generally we would be slating Liverpool or Sunderland fans if they were after sacking a manager in this manner. Personally, I'd ask one of them what they see with their eyes when they watch the team every week, then I'd understand.

And give Pardew enough rope and he'll do exactly the same... Not a million years. He might fail here, but not like that. I'd love to know where the thinking behind that statement comes from.

    Alan Pardew

He's had quite a few years of being 'poor at his job' whilst with previous clubs...didn't Ashley and Dracula notice that by any chance...? Some don't care about his previous managerial record and say we can only judge him on what he does here
  22. I don't think anything at all is as important or effective as the manager's outlook, tbh.
