The Europeometer™ (2024/25) - NUFC Qualify for Conference League (at least)
Dr Venkman replied to Rich's topic in Football
Interested in why you thought they’d be top four this season? They were undeserving of their position last season and haven’t added to the team in any meaningful way. Casemiro is one year older/fatter. You’re right about this season so far, they’ve been shite, they have 3 more points than they deserve. -
I’ve been trying my best not to post as don’t want to be too negative but Wilson wound me up so much last night. Great instinctive finisher but when he has time it seems like it usually goes wrong.

The margins are so fine in games like this, poor decision making cost us time and time again. Not the end of the world, we’ll beat Liverpool.

I've got a couple, will post them when I get a chance.

I’m quietly confident, I think we’ll get a result. -

Asking people to take ID to prove the right person has the ticket seems fair. Asking them to go to the box office and get another one because of a random selection doesn’t seem fair.- 665 replies

Imagine being given the gift of video replay to improve the fairness of the game and then looking to over complicate it at every turn. Just disregard the on field decision, look at a couple of angles and make a call that either reenforces or supercedes the on field decision. If both refs go the same way, fine, but the VAR refs are too compromised.
-
Yep. I’ve said this a million times but the problem in this country has always been that they begin with the premise that the ref on the pitch can’t make a mistake. As you say it should be as simple as ‘was that a pen?’ With the benefit of video technology they would get more right than wrong but they tie themselves in knots trying to uphold the infallibility of the on pitch ref.
-
Aye what’s happened between then and now which has led them to this decision? Looked at it again have they?
-
Did you see him shouting '2-0! 2-0! 2-0!' at Haaland?

Casemirold, Shit Bruno, and Mason Nowt. We'll murder them.
-
Utterly disgraceful that, even worse than Anderson's craic today.
-
I know it's very, very early days but I'm struggling to see where they've improved.

Absolute wet wipes man.

One day we’ll die, you all get that don’t you? And you don’t want to see us beat them 15-0 in case someone gets injured?

My initial comparison to HBA might not have been as silly as I thought a few weeks later. There’s something.

Tonali played a ridiculous cross field ball (to Gordon) on his left, I think it may be him.

I maintain that anyone who doesn’t want this version of NUFC to play this version of the mackems is risk averse to the point of paralysis.
