Yep, given the point Sewelly made as well about our lack of quality in depth I can't argue with the way Pardew's set us up. We're a hard working team who looks to shut down other teams strengths first and tries to supply our very clinical strikers with enough chances to get a couple of goals each week. It's not the beautiful football we'd all play given the chance but we're certainly not Stoke and it's working a treat. The only thing I'd like to see the back of is the overly negative performances like we saw at Liverpool but I would hope we should see the back of them next season.

Fyp... That there is one fantastic team. I would rather have Cissokho but he is more of an attacking LB than Pieters. Both are good options. Is it just me that would be looking to have a different CB in place of STaylor. Seems to be very unlucky with injuries. Yeah, as great as he was this season it's looking like we might not be able to rely on him for a full season.

It's been a strange season for Ben Arfa, coming back from a long term injury, plus no pre-season, added to the fact that he's trying to get into a team which is built on not conceding first and seeing where it takes us. I'm a massive Ben Arfa fan but i'll give Pardew until the end of the season to see what he does with him before judging (i've already slagged him off to high heaven over his treatment but quite frankly i haven't got the nerve to criticise much about him considering how well we're doing).

No player that plays pass and move would strive in our system, Mata, Sliva etc just name them ...Never mind Ben Arfa (tbh even Cayabe is limited by his style to a tackler) It would not work , its probably better if we sold him and get a hell of a crosser like Solano to play in Pardew's system. I am fine with us playing this way, but just don't come out and spout nonsense about us trying to play carpet football when we obviously ain't and Pardew obviously can't. I didn't say we played carpet football. I'm saying there's a big difference between "hoof / hoof and cross" and wing based play. I'm being 100% honest here, but I can only count on 1 hand the amount of times this season we've played actual hoof football (Stoke away to some extent, Bolton away, Blackburn away, and a couple of others). And I don't count times when we're under a lot of pressure and hoof the ball away to give us some breathing space, because even the best teams do that. ANFIELD
