Fulham 5 - 2 Newcastle United - 21/01/12 - Post-disaster reaction from page 60

Missed the first half, just watching highlights. Colo should have buried that chance like! -
Every time I click on this thread I'm glad Christmas Tree doesn't post anymore.

This is the main thing for me, it's now looking like Ashley might actually be prepared to help improve the team and the club, which is a world away from what most people thought a year ago. The Cisse signing suggests ambition well above just staying in the premier league, i'll be delighted if I was wrong in thinking that's all he wanted for the club, which it looks like I was at this moment.
-
I'll be glad to see the back of Drogba tbh. One of the biggest cheats in premier league history, and an absolute bell end as well.
-
Raylor's easily a better option than Obertan on the right if you want HBA in the middle. You're all forgetting how fucking shit Obertan's been.

Indeed. Right or wrong, the Carroll sale will hang over our heads for a while when it comes to this sort of thing though. Hopefully it was genuinely a one off based on the massive fee. I'm starting to think maybe it is, but alomst every player has their price I suppose. For example if clubs did actually bid £25m for someone like Tiote, or Cabaye, I would expect us to sell. But I hope and don't think we are just going to start splitting the team up for the sake of a bit of profit. Probably naive, but I'm not so sure we are just a 'selling club'. The money for Carroll was ridiculous and in hindsight was a cracking deal for NUFC. Could be totally wrong mind, just positive of late after the Cisse signing. I can see it going either way to be honest. Every player has their price. But 15m certainly isn't Krul's. The media have us down as just taking any sort of profit though, that was my point.

Even if we lose Ba in the summer due to a clause I'd still applaud his signing tbh. We'd have gotten goals and money from it so it's hard to criticise. I was just referring to him as an example of a player that's vulnerable. What WOULD be disappointing would be him not being replaced and us persisting with Best/Shola next to Cisse, but that's a way off yet.

None of our players are really vulnerable though, so if they are sold it will be for an extortionate amount which will be invested by knowledgable talented people Ba?
-
If Colo goes he needs to be replaced by someone of similar quality or with potential, but that's obvious. My only other contribution is that I'd be keeping Raylor and Perch. Both decent cover, it's not Perch's fault we went into the season without enough centre halves.

I assumed so given the early spelling mistake Me too, and the fact that he'd be revealing part of the team selection days before the game. Just when I started seeing people discuss them as if they were real I though might have an aneurysm (sp?) I'm not sure Pardew's fully sold on HBA wide yet but I think he's finally started paying attention to how rubbish Obertan's been at least. 3 victories in a row with him out of the way.
-
Considering he's had an up and down season you can sense the desperation to unsettle our team.

Hang on, those quotes are a piss take right?

FA Cup 4th Round: Brighton (a) - 28/01/12 @ 5.15pm (live on ESPN)

We know Pardew's taking it seriously so we'll put a full strength team out. Should be able to control midfield with Cabaye and Guthrie and get Ben Arfa and Santon running at them and we'll be ok. -
Yohan Cabaye (now sporting coordinator at Paris Saint-Germain)

Any news on him for the weekend? Has he been training? -
The mackems should sign him

same crack for ages, player wants to come, club need money but we wont pay as much as they want. doesnt look like he's the type to strike so i guess it depends if they have a change of heart, because we wont.
-
I think teams like QPR will think twice about pressing us high up the pitch like they did against Best and Shola that's for sure. Did I read somewhere that his hobby is being caught offside? When you are playing off the shoulder of the last defender then you'd have to be some striker not to get caught offside a few times. On the occasion when you beat the trap though... Yep, Hernandez was born offside, i'd still have him in our team though, or i would have before we signed all the Demba's.
-
Our transfer business is now so secretive that we tell players we want to sign that we're not interested.
-
Ohhhh I see it now, I read it as Ba and CB chase.
-
We should be sending his agent improved terms with no release clause every day until he signs.
-
Someone tell him we signed Ba last year, I think that chase is over.
-
Watching these two tear up defences is gonna be absolutely brilliant.
