  1. certainly, it's when you do it 9 times out of 10 that it starts to become a problem.
  2. probably something to do with how he plays - he's titus mark 2, has clear weaknesses that cant be addressed in training i.e. they're psychological how he acts - constantly lecturing others on the pitch while being rubbish and those fucking ridiculous dives and holding his stomach when the ball hits him his attitude - he's been talking himself up for years and regularly blabs about which clubs want him and how he'll play for england, if i know this its not surprising that the talk is pretty widespread, newcastle's a small town. above everything else, do you know what. he's just not good enough.
  3. True, although that kind of makes the original claim even more ridiculous, since then it would mean that Pardew was lying to Taylor just so Ashley could subsequently sell him for more money. Which IMO is even more out there. Aye, I'll give you that one. I think Pardew just came in and thought 'Steven Taylor, the Geordies love him and he'll definitely be better than that Will Michaelson', which is even more disturbing... yup
  4. hahahahaha, i'm not talking about a contract clause you muppet No one was talking to you, twatbarn and no-one mentioned a contract clause apart from Ian W, who only mentioned it to then say he didnt believe there was one.

  6. Only because Williamson and Colo weren't available, though. And Williamson went back into the team because Taylor wasn't available through injury. There's nowt conclusive to be drawn. he left williamson out when he was available again, favouring taylor. and during the period when he'd (williamson) been out we looked decidedly shitter in defense. around this time taylor also signed a new contract, seems pretty obvious to me.
  7. taylor isnt first choice, taylor wont sign new contract -> pardew comes in -> taylor is first choice, taylor signs new contract am i missing something?

he's responsible for bringing tiote on in the cup I know. He's not the only manager who decides he really fancies winning a cup game after already picking his reserves though. Ancelotti lost about 3 players doing that against us. thats just noise. i'm not taking you seriously at all if you talk about pardew missing tiote, that was one of the stupidest managerial decsions i've ever seen, he gave sammy lee a run for his money.

  10. There's no way that has happened. why is there no way that has happened? IMO it's too far fetched. There's no way Pardew would guarantee Taylor a start, it wouldn't fit in with the way the club is being run at all. seems perfectly possible to me, he did drop williamson for him straight away.

In fact alot talking about people on this forum (including me) falling for the "PR line" of the club, well I think most are falling for this great PR exercise. Appoint a spineless c*** and he'll get all the blame. The finger is constantly being pointed at the manager, when in reality it should be being pointed as those above him. He's just a puppet, and it's working for Ashley perfectly. Not constantly, just when he f***s up the starting XI and his subs. Square pegs in round holes don't work and he carries the can. square pegs......like barton on the right wing ? he tried his best to destroy that one when he first came in, even though he'd 'watched all of our games'. that and inexplicably dropping williamson so he could bring in taylor, disrupting our settled defence. he didnt learn from it either because he did the same thing yesterday only it was simpson that got moved. he wont get any sympathy from me just because he works for cunts, he's as bad if not worse for taking the job under those circumstances imo. not a shred of decency anywhere to be seen at management level in our club now.

Why take the job then? He's decide to work for the c***s and needs to get on with it. He's being paid to keep his mouth shut and pick the team/tactics. He's done a good job in that respect. holy shit, someone agrees

At the time though Barton was playing well and Taylor was coming back from injury. Maybe Pardew thought we could do without him and put it to Llambias who ok'd it? or maybe lambias did it without giving a fuck what pardew thinks? I wouldn't rule that out either tbh. i'd say it was the most likely, but i have an agenda

It can be done over one window. It all depends on the board, the manager and the players that already have been there. 10 players? Even if we spent all the money from the Carroll fee we'd be spending £3.5m on average on players. there should be more than 35m available to spend
  18. It's also 2 defeats in 10 in the league. Stats mean nowt man, they can be shaped in whatever way anyone wants. Yes but he's a centre forward, he's there to win us games. Could understand using that side of the statistic if he was a centre half. Drawing every game over the course of a season will take you down, we need to win games man and we totally unable to do it at the moment. We've also scored 15 goals in those 10 games, 10 games that Carroll wouldn't even have played in if he's only just making the bench for Liverpool today. We didn't fail to win most of those games because of failure to score. We didn't win because of poor defensive mistakes (Sunderland, Spurs, Everton, Fulham at least). Are you only allowed to score one goal a game? No, but we threw away leads in three of those games. Er... yeah, we also missed a load of chances to kill the game off. Who else was going to put them away like? A one legged Andy Carroll? Eh? Forget it, we're not going to agree. You think we're as good without Carroll, I don't. Fair enough. Where did I say that? What point are you making then? I'm saying we're not as good without him and you're arguing with me! The point I'm making is that having him at the club would have made no difference as we're now into the second week in March and he's still not fit to start I know that. Other people are interpreting this as "we're alright without him after all!" We're not. The fact that we're not doing as well as we could (not too bad though) has nothing to do with selling Carroll. Sure we would be stronger with him than without but even but we would be without him even if we didnt sell him, so no difference really. I reckon selling him sent out the wrong signal to the players, and they've become deflated. I strongly believe the Enrique spiel is directly related to the sale of our biggest hope for the next decade. dont forget barton too
  19. i'll judge him on his entire career. in which he's been mediocre at best.

and what's most worrying is he did that when he first got the job and hasnt learned from it
  21. appalling Given the injuries and suspension, how would you have picked the team? i dont want to spoil the match thread with a response, there's a lot more to be appalled by than our starting 11 today now enrique's injured too, squad's looking pretty thin eh? what are you on about? Never said we had a fantastic squad. You criticized the selection and when asked to justify, came out with something completely irrelevant no. no i didnt criticise the selection, i posted a one word response and you assumed i was criticising the selection.

  23. pardew disrupting our settled defence once again with steven taylor, with spectacularly predictable results
  24. excellent, thats what we needed if we're looking shaky. for them to out shake us
