They've had plenty of criticism for not talking to the media enough. i know that, but they just talk too much shit for my liking what kind of fucking prep work saw us 0-4 down at home to arsenal like? or maybe it was the analysis that got us 4 goals back? The players bottled it in the first half against Arsenal - no amount of analysis can prepare for that. Look at Real Madrid against Barcelona - do you think Mourinho didn't do everything in his power to analyse and prepare for that match? Sometimes things don't go to plan, but that doesn't mean it isn't encouraging that the management team are taking more thorough steps to try and get results. i was taking the piss man, of course it's good that we're actually preparing in this manner - what i don't like is that we're supposed to see it as new and revolutionary, we should be asking why haven't we been analysing our opponents and ourselves in depth for years what is there to say we haven't?
  2. so what you're trying to say is, we'd have more chance of finishing 7th if we had a better squad?
  3. It's not a world of difference, it's just a matter of scale. We wouldn't be able to hold onto one of the best players in the world in their position, of course we wouldn't. However Enrique is not one of the best players in the world in his position. He's good, and he's better than average in this league, but he's not in the top 10 left backs in the world. If it's really about the ambition to win things for Enrique, then we can't begrudge him leaving for a club in England, Spain, Italy or Germany who are in the CL, and I wouldn't blame the club for selling him in the Summer either. However if he goes to a club who are only realistically going for a Europa League place like Liverpool or Villa, then it's partly about the money for the player, and completely about the money for the club. I know there are some who would hate him for that, but personally I don't begrudge any player moving for money, 99.9% of us in the same position would do exactly the same and you're kidding yourself if you think differently. In that situation, a club with our resources in one of the best leagues in the world shouldn't really be struggling to keep hold of him if we think he's worth it. Enrique as a player is about at the same level as we should be as a minimum as a club. good post. not surprised in the slightest he wants to go. and he will, been saying it for months. him and carroll were always gonna be peddled once ashley brought his patsy in.
  4. If you never learn from your mistakes, how do you evolve? It's not the job of people on here to point out other's mistakes. ahhhhh, but they're having SO MUCH FUN!
  5. nice to see the usual europe posts after a win its all well and good saying a few additions will see us in europe next season, but we need a squad. excellent result though, lovenkrands scored?

still cant score....you mean we didn't today or at fulham but have scored on every other occasion he hasn't played (i'm guessing) you're right, we clearly didnt need to get any firepower. how could i have been so stupid.

does anything else need to be said barring the fact that we sold our best striker and didnt bring in anyone other ones and we still cant score?
  8. you need negative balls to make a striking change here, its beyond obvious

possible, but that's strawman argument, you create it as a possible reason based on nothing concrete then argue against it. For the record I think Hughton was pretty decent in the transfer market, he just wasn't able to get those players performing against lesser opponents, an area that Pardew has greatly improved on (Stevenage aside) better in the transfer market = 35m for carroll without a peep out of the manager in reply. i remember him saying he 'advised' them to turn down the bid though

not ask for any spending money?
  11. Me as left back for Newcastle? I'd sign a 15 and a half year deal. as a left back for a spanish club that had some success recently, played in the champions league but never won anything. got relegated, you stayed with the team and helped them win promotion. the manager who'd brought stability , promotion and a good first half of the season got sacked for nothing and was replaced with some bloke who's managed a few teams before. the club then sold their best player and hope for the future on deadline day without time to buy a replacement, and failed to bring anyone fit and ready into the club in the transfer window to boost the squad, which was sorely needed. you're pretty much the best left back in the league. you could walk into almost any team with a chance of progressing and winning medals, and you want to get into the england squad. and you'd stay? you'd be mad. if he does sign a new deal i'll expect him to be sold the following window.
  12. we needed a striker in the january window, they should be blamed for not getting one, and thats just the start. It would've been useful but it wasn't vital. Ireland would've been fine. With the loss of Carroll it was made vital, but it was too late. what about during january when carroll was injured, was it vital then?

  14. say what you like about it being february, we're desperate, who else do you expect etc etc. it's the same noise i hear when people are talking about sacking hughton and bringing in pardew because ashley 'needs someone he can trust', or selling our best player because the fee was good. where you see isolated incidents that you deem understandable, i see mistake after mistake after mistake, all because of money and generally not giving a fuck what nufc do on the pitch.
  15. people are acting like we should have been working from the end of december to bring in a forward anyway BEFORE we sold carroll on february 9th i was expecting us not to have to make joke signings like this
  16. i'd be willing to give a sausage roll the benefit of the doubt if it was wearing a strip and shook hands with the opposition before kick-off. doesnt mean nufc should be fielding one though Yeah, that's a fair point as well... sad times man
  17. he'll be off. put yourself in is position and ask yourself what you'd do.
