  1. i simply dont have the will to express my dislike of him as a player anymore, last night i actually got to that point with most of the team tbh.
  2. people would rather have simpson than beye? in this fucking league?
  3. the thing is right, we know he can beat players, he's done it every week in the championship without fail. and we know he's an average crosser of the ball at best and pretty hopeless at shooting, but the amount of time he gets into the position to shoot, if he at least had a bit of confidence about it from doing it over and over again in training, surely he'd get AT LEAST one on target a game. once thats done, you dont have to rely on a striker to be in the box or finish the ball (unless its a rebound chance, which will happen aswell), and with the standard of keepers in this league, some are going to go in. fair enough it might be a mental weakness of his, but for fucks sake thats the WHOLE POINT of training, to make these players better. it shouldnt be about him staying extra hours to do it, although that would be commendable, hughton should be seeing these things in games, and saying to him 'right, this is what you're doing in training for the forseeable future, until you bag a few', as long as his general fitness stays good at the same time what have we got to lose? and this should apply all over the park, constantly fire long balls at colo and make him deal with them in the air, run people at taylor and tell him he can only back off so far, and shoot kevin nolan in the kneecaps and do us all a favour. granted i dont know that this stuff isnt all taking place but i fucking doubt it.
  4. Source? northern rock http://www.guardian.co.uk/business/2010/jan/18/northern-rock-newcastle-united-sponsorship seems like there's been some sort of announcement big man?
  5. what do they do in training? if i was hughton i'd have Jonas practicing cutting inside and shooting for 3 hours a day, every day.
  6. Because people read the papers and automatically know what they're like in the dressing room and in person. actually, it's more to do with that fact that all you had to do to get an idea of what he was like, was go to love dough. he was there every week without fail, being a tit.
  7. we'll win this, they were fucking AWFUL against forest and they'll come for a draw.
  8. Most of the coldest NFL cities have outdoor stadiums though. Ironically most of the domes are in the warmer cities. I think it's pretty even actually, iirc there's 6 or 7 domes, and four of them are in colder climates. Yeah it is pretty even however when you add in stadiums with fully retractable roofs I believe there are more in the warmer cities than the cold ones. But look at Green Bay, Chicago, New England, Cleveland, Cincinnati, New York, Buffalo, Denver, Pittsburgh, Baltimore, Washington, Seattle etc etc all freezing in winter with proper outdoor stadiums. dont know if this has already been mentioned but you can't compare NFL and Football when it comes to weather cancellations. Literally the only weather that'll threaten an NFL game is an electric storm directly above the stadium
  9. They saved his life and all he could compliment them is by saying "quite well". translation, i imagine
  10. haha aye, nice early start. there's a lad i know in there actually that i hadnt noticed on first viewing, standing next to nile when he's throwing up a west
  11. Apologies if this has already been posted, i did a search and was very surprised i couldnt find it. This is fucking hilarious, some of it's shot in Beatdown records, featuring such lines as 'when the sun goes down and it's just you and I around, when my dress is falling down and you go down town' http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=237749045778&ref=nf oh and guess who turns up at 2:08
  12. I don't think you'll finish above Man City, they've got many more gears to go to after January. I don't think there's much between you and Aston Villa. I agree, unfortunately. Was hoping that Hughes would stay. My main hope is that City's defence keeps its vaudeville traditions. There's an awful lot between us and Villa in terms of the style of football we play, but their defensive set-up is very strong. It's a comparison between a counter-attacking style and a possession style and it's difficult to say which will come out on top. The game at Villa Park was indicative - Villa barely had a kick in the last hour, yet Friedel and Cuellar did really well to keep us out and we needed a dodgy goal to equalize. You say counter attacking style, but that's too easy to fall back on. At times this season we've played very good football. At times we've played awful football. The difference is this year we're far less reliant on the counter attack, despite what you read in the lazy media. Maybe you have more of the ball than we do, but what would worry me if i were a Spurs fan would be the familiar thing (of Spurs sides for every one of the 30 years I've been watching football) of seeing them have lots of possession but not really doing very much with it. The game against us was like that, in the second half you had all the ball, but Friedel didn't really have a great deal to do. A draw was about right, three points for you never really looked likely. I watched your game at Old Trafford in the league cup, and you had almost all the possession - it was quite embarassing to watch at times for Man United - but you did nothing with it and ended up losing 2-0. We went to Old Trafford, took the game to them, and won, as we did at Liverpool and at home to Chelsea. Bar Liverpool on the opening day and Man City, I can't really remember Spurs beating any of the stronger sides - you've done well against the weaker teams where they let you pass around them, but the results don't look that good against decent sides with a bit of resilience. That's where I think you'll struggle. Our problem is the converse, we do well against decent sides, but struggle against dross (Wigan, Stoke, West Ham). ahhhh, great days
  13. unfortunately since ashley took control the trend has been to be amazed at incoming fees and just accept that we're not gonna bring anyone decent in, ever.
  14. i agree with those saying that our priority should be a midfielder, we've needed one of those who can pass a bit since emre, and he was never fit. but you only have to look at the derby game to see we're crying out for someone who can put the ball in the fucking net. fwiw, ranger and beckford imo. movement, height, pace, strength, and at least one of them can finish.
  15. Jenas going round the keeper and missing from about 3 yards in his first game back at St James for spurs.
  16. i'm assuming he considers himself 'detached from the football world' because he never fucking plays?
  17. feel sorry for the fans tbh, they need a super wealthy, well intentioned businessman to buy their club and save them from whoever's been running them into the ground.....
  18. it's something weird like the 12th this is definitely not the most important game of the season, i expect that'll be towards the end of the season, just hoping it wont be in the playoffs
  19. hahaha i bet against 0-0 on 80 mins
  20. oh ok, i would. it would be a black cat after all. personal preference i suppose.
