  1. my feelings exactly, watching the match in the pub today, there was a group of 50 year olds standing behind me, at 2-1 giving it 'pack your bags sam' etc . when they were moving up field for the last one, one of them's going 'goal, goal, goal', i turned round and said 'are you a fucking blackburn supporter like?' he just looked at me and nodded, not a brain cell in his head, i'm not reading the rest of this because i cant be arsed with the negativity, all i'll say is they didnt deserve one never mind three, and our performance was promising regarding the formation, it seemed to be working a lot better than previously
  2. funny that. i'd wondered about crouchs' reaction to our fans being dicks, considering he's been linked with us quite a few times, he probably thinks it'll be best to stay an opposition player at st james, that way he can get a round of applause well said joey
  3. How come it is like this with some managers? Every fan and pundit can see something, but the manager just can't? So frustrating! s*** thing is, i thought those days were behind us when we got sam in. There have been times with everyone of our managers where they seem to be the only one not seeing what everyone else does, that includes Keegan and SBR. I am pretty sure it is the same with every other club manager, Ferguson, Wenger, Mourinho. All of them make decisions that utterly baffle most fans. yeah, there's probably a lesson to be learned here, if you think about it....... Aye - all fans are wrong and the manager is completely right. i was thinking more along the lines of these people get paid to see things that we dont, for whatever reason, based on their records of having done so in the past, i'm just playing devils advocate, you can boo me if you want, you're entitled to

  6. same here, the games on sky have been shit because of this
  7. got a feeling we're gonna beat them, but thats just my natural nufc optimism that usually re-appears around this time of the week
  8. Firstly I'm not someone who would boo my own team regardless, so let's make that clear. I think the fact that 6000 are heading to Blackburn answers all the critics about the fans supposed lack of support. Now it's over to Big Sam to put out a team that will be allowed to play and have a go at Blackburn because the long ball approach is clearly not going to work with this squad. Let them play, let them pass and move and let them get forward in support of their strikers when in possession. Play the full backs we've bought at full back. Play the wide players wide. Keep it on the deck and let Blackburn huff and puff and concede posession by lumping it high and long. These tactics might not work, but I'll bet the players we've got will be far more capable using them. If the fans still whinge then fair enough, but I doubt it. i dont think the 6000 going to blackburn answers anything, its the home support i've got a problem with, by and large you're making sense re: formations, playing to our strengths, i'm just totally sick of the hate crew
  9. they also mention getting behind the team, having a reality check, and suggest you all stop moaning like f****** girls everytime something bad happens, which is worth a try for all of you, wake up, we're a laughing stock of a club thats been going backwards for YEARS and we cant be turned around in one season, nevermind 13 games All vague "rally behind the troops, it's early days" soundbites which mean f*** all tbh. You could have said that about Sammy Lee if you were a Bolton fan. Big Sam was a big fish at Bolton where the odd upset was a massive triumph. Right now he's doing the opposite so why does he deserve special treatment based on his results so far? massive, steaming, pile, of s*** one has a proven record in this league, one doesnt he deserves 'special' treatment because he's the manager of OUR football club, and unless you believe he's trying to get bad performances then we're all pulling in the same direction, and if you class not booing him as special treatment then i feel totally disgusted to be associated with you and your 50,000 mates 'massive, steaming, pile, of s*** 2 one has a proven record in this league, one doesnt' or you could argue, Big Sam's 'proven record' was worse than Bobby Robson's in his senile days which saw him sacked. or you could argue that Sammy lee wasn't given enough time. or you might just ask like the rest of us, why it takes so much thought and tactical insight to make us look s*** against the worst teams in the division? re: bobby, different teams, different levels of investment, different expectations, bad analogy re: sammy lee, no reason to appoint him in the first place as he had no prior results in that role, nevermind in this league, also see hutchings at wigan, another bad point re: us looking s***, yeah, we've looked s***, i agree, my suggestion would be to leave sam in office until at least the end of the season and get behind him and the team, and stop booing, what would yours be?

  11. the first person asked obviously packs his bags straight away? ok? Isnt that what happened with Sam when we employed him? i dont know, i didnt do the job personally Thats how it was. Shep had one name & he went & got his man. ok lets cut the crap, is your point that because you think that was the case last time, that it could feasibly be the case if we were to sack sam and went looking for another manager? well, ok, i accept that may be a possibility, but would the person packing their bags be of a higher quality than sam? thats the point, think about it

  15. No, he's here and what he does from the day he took over until the day he goes is all that matters now. it means what I said. You are not taking into account his past record. You are saying his past record is irrelevant, because he's had 13 games here. I can see how you come to that conclusion So. As HTT pointed out too, his 8 years at Bolton isn't grounds for saying that he isn't worth more than 13 games here ? Just for clarification Just for clarification, all that matters now that he's here is what he does while he's here. Also, I've only said that we should get rid of him if we can get somebody in who is better and I'd probably give him until the end of the season to see what he can do here. FWIW, it also nails the theory that having all the summer to "plan" is the way to do things, because as we can all see now, it doesn't make the slightest bit of difference whatsoever. come on now, you cant seriously believe that? Can you tell me, in all seriousness, that the opportunity to appoint a manager of the calibre of Wenger, should be turned down just because it was the "wrong time". ? no, but thats not what you said, at least not in the bit i quoted. you said that having a pre season makes absolutely no difference whatsoever, based on the fact that allardyce had one and that we now aren't doing so well. surely if you've made your managerial choice, having a pre season with them in charge is better than not? I'll phrase it differently then. Its no guarantee of success then ? And - do you think it HAS made any difference so far ? My point is that the right man is all that matters, not the timing. Bobby Robson took over from Gullit, and did brilliantly despite having no pre-season preparation, far better than his predecessor, Dalglish, Souness, Roeder and now Allardyce. no, its not a guarantee of success, but thats a moot point as i don't believe there are ANY guarantess of success, obviously the right man matters, but its better to have a pre season with him than not, that would be my point

  18. Fair comment, I just thought it was worth a try. no worries fella, got respect for you and your views, thumbs up
  19. Your 'i's' should be upper case, so should the 'a' at the beginning of the sentence, do I win? no, it was a spelling competition, not punctuation and grammar
  20. If i were at the game yesterday i would of walked out of the ground in disgust...of the fans. Terrible. We look like the muppets everyone brands us as. Well done. Agreed. Completely embarrassing. NE5, i feel total and utter delight on agreeing with you, CoachHTT, where the hell have you been? we've been fighting this alone for 12 pages! go and have a wankathon with your mates over your fat sam picures haha, i rarely agree with NE5, that was my point. and if you're going to try and be clever i suggest you check your spelling

  22. It's actually 14 games in, we also lost to Arsenal reserves. 14 games is long enough to see that we have problems, problems which are to a large extent self inflicted and repeated on a regular basis. I've seen enough games lost to get over a defeat or two, I hate it when I'm 90% sure that we'll lose before a game because of something which could be put right very easily. This repetition is getting very boring but I have a feeling it will be repeated again during the next couple of games. I hope I'm having this post bumped next week to prove me wrong but I doubt it. but the man has a proven track record of getting things right in this league if you give him time, for the club to be successful, at some point the fans have got to give someone a chance when things AREN'T going right, because no-one can get everything right all the time, the main difference between bolton and newcastle is expectation, (apart from history, which at this point counts for nothing) its the fans attitude that sets the two clubs apart, we need to accept that we're a mid table club at best, with a man in charge who has previously taken a relegation candidate club and taken them to a more than decent level
  23. for gods sake, i had to have a word with a mate who said this yesterday 'gary megsons team beat man u today, thats how bad our management situation is', you people cant see the wood for the trees, thats a SAM ALLARDYCE team playing man u mate, his players, playing his system, whats the diference between them and us, TIME Mate if you want a team that is very happy to graft out the odd win against the odds, pick up a lot of points from draws and safely home in on 9th spot each year then Sam will definately bring us that given time. He is in fact well on the way. Trouble is most of us here want a manager that wants to go out and beat the filth 7-1, instead of trying to graft a precious point off them. We don't want to transform into Bolton. We want Sam to take the best of what he had at Bolton, but to let go of all that small club grafting crap. He has a first team packed full of internationals, he needs to start using them as such. Forget Liverpool and Manure. We don't have the players or the finances to compete with them in the short team. What is the problem with Sam is he is happy as a lark to go and 'steal' a point off the filth where David Moyes with a similar squad goes and thrashes them 7-1. And David Moyes is no managerial Einstein mate. He just got his team to pass the ball a bit and put a bit of pressure on the s*** backline they have. Which surprisingly worked better than letting them come at our backline and trying to absorb the pressure. i agree with most of what you're saying, i'm starting to repeat myself here though and its getting boring for everyone, we know what sam did at bolton, we also know that in the long term thats not what we want, but from where we were before he took over, it'd be a start. at the end of the day its down to ashley and mort what happens with the manager, my point is that i'm sick to death of the fans attitude, the wholesale changes over the summer looked to be the turning point for us, a new start, fresh optimism, but the fact of the matter is that it doesnt take long for the booing to start again. it feels like our fans are more bothered about drama than they are about football, half way through the second half yesterday i look around and everyone's grinning at how bad its gotten phil k - yeah mate, i'm daft, keep booing
