  1. you're not allowed to criticise players though, it makes you fickle and means you're looking for a scapegoat, especially if they're young. what the fuck, grow some balls man, that was a shocking display last night.
  2. deserved his standing ovation last night, improved massively on his last year of performances.
  3. no, no, no. we hate sunderland, its eternal, its important, and it needs to be pointed out.
  4. i dont think anyone's trying to find a scapegoat as pretty much everyone's saying they were happy with the result and would've taken it before the match, but if you cant come on and put people under pressure on their half way line for ten minutes, at the LEAST, then either declare yourself unfit, or fuck off. whether you're alan shearer, shola ameobi, carl cort or andy carroll. no?
  5. Well done Habib Beye for being better than Carr, Hughes and Griffin. Picking the bones again, then. Class counter-argument. I can't take seriously what you're saying about him tonight, so i'll just ask: what've you got against him like? The fact that he's not a particularly good crosser of the ball? That for me, is his only real weakness. I've got nothing against him apart from I don't think he's that good. If Steven Taylor made that tackle in the box then reactions would be completely different, fair enough he got a slight touch on the ball but you can't make tackles from behind anywhere on the pitch so to make one in the penalty box is daft. wasn't from behind in that sense wasnt from behind anyway, if we're gonna get technical about it, it was from the side
  6. I'm not winding anyone up. If you attempt to tackle someone from behind in the box when you're the last man then you run the risk of getting yourself sent off, even if you do get the ball. The refs have been clamping down on tackles from behind over the last few years and you usually see a few freekicks given throughout the game for it even if you do win the ball. just because he was 'running the risk' doesnt mean he deserved to have a penalty given and be sent off. that was a good tackle, and he didnt hurt robinho or ever risk hurting him. it takes just as much judgement and timing to to do that as it does to lob the keeper, it should be encouraged and applauded, not punished.
  7. no, sorry. not having that. that was a lazy, dis-interested performance which cost us badly. if he cant run 20 yards to close someone down he should declare himself unfit
  8. Sorry but if it was anyone of uso n here brought on with 10 minutes at 2-1 we'd have worked a lot harder than he did, he didn't chase back or make much effort at all. Wheres the pride of playing for the club, as my Dad rightly put it "Too busy thinking which bird hes going to shag in Tiger after the game". Junkhead I expected him to exert effort, any player can do that. my granda would've put more pressure on the centre halves who were walking into our half with the ball, and he's dead. Carroll wants shot with his own shit on lack of effort alone.
  9. just got back, i'm happy to say i was proud of our players and proud of our support for the entire night tonight. i said on here before i went to the match that i was gonna muster all the passion i could and support ameobi, and he repaid my faith with a very good performance. martins was excellent, looked dangerous every time he had the ball, collocini was in control for the whole game, duff looked like he had a bit of bite, taylor was good, just all round effort was nice to see. 2-2 is a massive result for us tonight having played for 80 minutes with ten men, lets hope the confidence from that carries over to next week just one negative to mention, Carroll, that was fucking embarassing, i could teach a monkey to run at a man in possesion of a football, he never moved his arse once. if he thinks that the only job he needed to do was get on the end of long balls then he shouldnt be anywhere near a football team.
  10. i'm doing my bit tonight by supporting shola ameobi, and believe me, thats gonna take every ounce of my passion to muster
  11. sorry i cant be arsed to check, but whats the general consensus on who's gonna be fit for this? beye? jonas? martins 50-50?
  12. says it all about our plight atm that this is the game i'm relying on to give me my weekly dose of football joy
  13. apparently just a strain, out for 7-10 days
  14. keith harris was on five live last night, amongst other things he said there's 'a surprising amount of interest in the club, given the state of the economy' that 'things were progressing very well' that 'the money is coming from outside of the uk' and that he'd be 'surprised if ashley was still there at the end of the season', also that it was down to personal and not money issues that ashley was selling up.
  15. i'm nearly crying reading this thread, fucking hell man
  16. I think that - as usual, like others - you should read the thread again. Baggio made a comment saying he wishes I had died ? So are you dumb, stupid or both ? yeah i saw that, i think its irrelevant though. well, I don't. That accounts for this thread. As for other instances, its not my fault that so many people are dumb and/or won't listen to others. That now includes you. shit, really? is there no way i can get back in your good books? all i'm doing is pointing out a recurring theme with you mate, no need to call me dumb or stupid or both, whatever that means, i think you're the one not listening.
  17. I think that - as usual, like others - you should read the thread again. Baggio made a comment saying he wishes I had died ? So are you dumb, stupid or both ? yeah i saw that, i think its irrelevant though. there must be something going on if its always one person having arguments with different people, you've just proved the theory with the last line of that post.
  18. why are threads always ruined by NE5 arguing with people?
  19. ... he did? Coloccini wasn't covering; it was poor marking. Given was unlucky to have two attackers bearing down on him with no defenders to help. it was poor marking. But to be fair most goalkeepers would be eating up that ball. Given's been good this season but he still has that huge weakness and most CB's wont be used to playing in front of a keeper with such withdrawn positioning Coloccini won the ball time and time again from what i saw, he did well enough bit of both imo. i know one thing though, ONE of them should be deaing with it, there's no excuse for both of them.
  20. thats one of the best game i've seen taylor have, credit where credit's due. collocini looked shaky in the air first half and i thought he was partly to blame for their second goal but he was much better second half. it seems obvious to me that colo and bassong should be our starting centre backs. guthrie had a very good game i thought, and charlie looked dangerous too. duff and butt just continue their mediocrity. well done to the lads for fighting back, what on earth is up with everton though, second half they didnt even have a spll of posession. would have been happy with a draw in this game under kk, so under jfk i'm very happy
  21. its been utterly relentless for months hasnt it. who we gonna buy? why haven't we signed more already? is keegan gone? no he hasnt, yes he has. who's coming in next? its poyet, no it isnt. is ashley going? yes he is. who's buying us? fucking hell man i'm exhausted, and the football's been dreadful.
