More satisfied if Ameobi & Smith were sold without being replaced. If Owen doesn't sign a new deal, then yes, i'd like to have seen him leave as well, because its twitchy bum time when it get to January and European clubs start to look at pre-contracting Owen. I'm sure you'd be more satisfied to keep him for a season and let him go for free? I'd rather keep him and let him go for free next year, yeah. I would hope that we wouldn't require his transfer fee in order to replace him. He's much more valuable to us this season as a player than he is as £8m £8m fee & £5m wages and at any moment one injury away from another missed season. The Colombian we might be bringing in on loan I think might be cover for Barton in the 4-3-1-2 setup as it is likely he will be out for 16 games they are saying, or something ridiculous like that. I think we have always been looking out for a loan option such as this to cover for Barton, as that would pretty much rule him out of making any serious contribution this season. is the colombian gonzalez? trust your managers judgement, keegan knows what he thinks he's worth, he talked in his book about how he would give pay rises to players when he felt they deserved them, even if the players didnt ask, he is loyal to the players who deserve it and expects the same in return, he's no fool.
