Textbook definition of glass half empty, this. I saw our players react more professionally to a high pressure situation.

I suppose so? I think they do need to be working together. I have just always sensed that EH doesn't see himself as a head coach (constantly refers to himself as the manager) and those comments from Eales stuck out massively. EH will not have appreciated them at all, IMO. Whether that does mean some bad shit is going on behind the scenes, who knows. But add that to the lack of progress on the first team and it's not a great look IMO. I'm not feeling downhearted about this season, we've got a good squad with some excellent players in some positions and a fantastic head coach. It's all a bit weird transfer wise though. MG will probably sign tomorrow and that will be that.

Wouldn't be the biggest shock to see a compromise reached tomorrow.

I don't feel too emo about the state of the squad if we do no more business. I think retaining our stars has been a massive win, TBH. However, Eales comments about EH being told to focus on coaching the team got on my radar immediately, and I am concerned about what the lack of progress on developing the first team says about what's happening with power dynamics behind the scenes. By all accounts we have the money and are able to spend it, but we haven't. That's #worrying.

If only we’d forced him to give all his wages to nuns

Fuck’s gan on in here? 4 points from 6.

I think by the end of this season he is talked about as part of the small group of players you want to keep hold of at all costs.

We do a lot of our transfer business based on opportunity rather than short-term need.
-
Tend to live my life by that rule TBH.
-
Was he visibly upset today? I haven’t seen anything. I said a while ago I feel sorry for him like. He clearly has a lot going on that he turns to drink/lasses to attempt to forget about.
-
Everyone forgetting that EH teams always start slowly? That’s the beauty of the easier fixtures this time.

Maybe next time someone questions you, don't immediately employ 'you're too stupid to understand my argument'? Just a thought.
-
Suggesting that a broader point 'goes over my head' is an insinuation that I don't understand your argument, that's not polite, so you've not really thought that through. I think I do understand your argument, but the way you've presented it doesn't stand up to scrutiny. You don't appreciate the scrutiny and therefore you've chosen to suggest I'm not capable of understanding your argument. You seem to be suggesting that a 'blanket statement gets used for every out of form or poorer player', and the blanket statement is that Eddie can improve them? Leaving aside your lack of evidence (feel free to supply some) you've chosen two pathetic examples, which is why I pressed you. ASM and Ryan Fraser are both limited players, at best, who either don't fit Howe's philosophy or don't get on with him. Sterling is a legitimately quality player (albeit past his absolute best) and suggesting that Howe could get him back to the player he was a couple of years ago isn't daft, it's Howe's speciality. Do you want to try and make the broader point again?
-
Is he on a quota like?
-
Everything I was told was the same as Lovejoy's info, which came (to me) via KT's ex-wife.
-
Aye, but Sterling’s a really good player already
-
And the fact that he obviously wanted to go to KSA anyway for one last payday.

With respect, the priority should be whether or not the club get (what they perceive as) value for money on the transfer. Everything else is noise.
