I think the Messi debate is a bit of a red herring TBH and it always seems to happen when someone says ‘he was as talented as anyone’. It’s all debatable obviously but I think it’s enough to just say that he looked like he could more or less do anything he wanted at his best and that’s where the ‘as talented as anyone’ stuff comes from.

I've seen enough shite out of us to not be moving too far down due to one win but hopefully it helps the players with confidence they can see games out. Everything begins with the premise that the referee is not capable of making an error, it's absurd. They've managed to negate the entire point of a video replay system by bolting on their victorian era disciplinarian bullshit under the premise that the referee is always right. Until they change that underlying premise we'll never get consistency.
