  1. Glad I withheld my vote until now. Yes, yes, yes.
  2. Amazing how much team spirit was holding our team up, and Carroll's defensive headers as well. That and Hughton's common sense - 4-4-2 with Loven and Best against Arsenal, genius that was.
  3. A team should sell one of their current best players to open the door for superior ones to come in, surely? AC as aplayer was going to limit our ambitions in the future because he's an average striker who is only suited to a one dimensional style of play. The timing of the sale was shocking to but the opportunity was too big to miss. Te second point is moot tbh but recent windows suggest the club can do smart business. Sorry but Carroll didn't limit our play, rather made the very best of what limited play we are capable off. If we're being truthful, bar the Ben Arfa who's not played 3 full games this season, Barton's been the only bit of creativity in our midfield and Carroll made the most of that. That first sentence pretty much encompasses my point, our team attack wise is terrible, we now have the opportunity to build something better overall. So to become better we need to go back to being shit again? The only team that has worked out how to do that was Manure as far as I can remember, when RVN left. Surely you do realise that the reason people are pissed is because AC was still improving with every game he played?

If he can't hold the ball up shouldn't the team try to play to his strengths instead of his weaknesses? Asking him to hold the ball up whilst holding off experienced Premiership defenders most of whom will be much stronger & more experienced than him is an exercise in futility. But that's not his fault, that's how he's being played and he's totally unsuited to the role. Why not try playing to his strengths instead? Let him stay on the shoulder of the defenders & play balls in behind so he can use his pace to beat defenders instead of hoping that he can play in the same way as much more experienced players like Shola. To be fair he looked a lot better when he concentrated on holding up the ball and getting other players involved, as opposed to trying to do everything himself. It wasn't that long ago when people criticised him for being too unselfish.
  5. He assured the fans, he was going to improve the squad. If he hadn't said that, fair enough.. Routledge being allowed to leave on a loan is reason enough.
  6. The only thing getting boring is the way FCB is ripping this club to shreads. If you want to bring success to a club you build around the best young players at that club. You do not sell them. ronaldo at man utd, anelka at arsenal, torres at liverpool ? Conversely, Scholes and Gerrard.

    Shola Ameobi

We could do with him posting on everyone else's fan forum.
  8. Our transfer policy was based on the assumption that we'd have Carroll at the end of the window, of course. Not picking up another striker would have been fine till summer really, but replacing our star striker with a big wad of notes
  9. If we're going to take rumours as gospel, word is he only wanted 60k, which is what, 5-10k more than Smith is taking?

I'm all for that right now.
  11. Whatever it is, it isn't two upfront. The fewer passengers on the team the better.
  12. My river's been chock full of shite, but from what I've seen we have been trying, its just that the shortages in quality and options are really showing now.
  13. Routledge would have been perfect to have as an option right now, mental block or not.

    Alan Pardew

Zog would have been perfect ... alongside Carroll.
  15. And what about the possible domino effect? We could get relegated, and/or lose all of our best players because we haven't shown any ambition in the slightest.
  16. I do rate him... so yes? He is much better than what we have left at least.
  17. I could live with that. Me too. Someone said he has already been loaned out to Bolton though :*( Sturridge has been shit every single time I've seen him play, why would we want him at all? I'd genuinely prefer Shola.
  18. Well, so much for Fulham being tired when they face us.
  19. Tbf its tough to cover two positions at once, with Perch doing absolutely nothing after he came on.
  20. I'd have him over Simpson on any day, so... yes? Granted he did get a raping off Jonas today, but at least he offers something that vaguely resembles a threat in attacking terms.
  21. He was no dud, but nothing special either He reminded me of Jonas on one of his bad days.
  22. My liverpool supporting mate was watching the game and i got updates from him whilst at work. He said 1-1 was a fair result and Halsey favoured you guys (my mate really dislikes spurs btw). I'll watch when i get home on football first. It did look like Halsey was being extremely biased against Lennon and VdV, but the former should have been yellow'd for blatant diving at least once.
