Smith on the other hand is essentially culpable for at least, half the goals they scored and the utter domination they had over our midfield. Smith didn't track any runs, didn't try to intercept any passes, didn't offer himself for passes and the space he gave Scholes ... well we may as well have played Barton alone in midfield, because that would have prevented Smith from trying to break Rooney's rut at least.

Well, going by personal experience, its a nightmare to play CB without a DM who intercepts passes in front of you. So yes, I think we could do with one in the squad.
