  1. Japan were genuinely underdogs in terms of the personnel they had, compared to Cameroon. South Korea on the other hand :S
  2. Sorry, but that really wasn't a pen. Ball to hand - good call. Its more like the only negative was the red card - but it was a big negative to be fair. NFI why Verbeek thought playing Craig Moore on a high line against the Jormans was a good idea
  3. Yeah, because if they played during the day they would possibly die due to the heat. In the winter. Their winter is nowt like our winter. It maxes out below 20 celcius man
  4. He'd look uncomfortable anywhere on the pitch man He's barely a footballer. We just play him because he's faster than Oba and stronger than Drogba. That and the amusement value. fair enough
  5. Question, why does Cha Du-Ri play at right back for you? He looks awfully uncomfortable there.
  6. I'd have him considering our options, but wtf?
  7. If we're going by the definition of "capital outlay" as described here - http://www.allbusiness.com/glossaries/capital-outlay/4957812-1.html, that means we aren't purchasing any new assets (i.e. players) at all, doesn't it? Its very pedantic yes, but thats exactly how "The Board" comes across.
  8. Having one less man to do the running might also explain that. You think Inter would've played differently if they'd had all 11 on the pitch? No, but the contrast in that particular stat wouldn't be as obvious if they did. Anyway, I think most defensive teams do aim to set themselves up that way. Chasing the ball just ends up leaving gaps in the defence.
  9. Having one less man to do the running might also explain that.
  10. Crouch and Carroll have next to nothing in common with each other, as footballers. Crouch is genuinely good on the ball, while Carroll would be better off trying to control the ball and dribble with his head.
  11. Tbf, the decisions tonight really did even out. The goal Barca did score was offside after all.
  12. £ 40m plus Eto'o. Shocking. They may as well get Shola in tbh, instead of paying Ibrahimovic those wages for a mere imitation of the real thing.
  13. You need to keep a little context, good result, but if you listen to Dave Jones comments you will see they were down to the bare bones of their squad, Mcphail is just recovering from cancer treatment. Cardiff are always a funny side because they have a small squad and rely on accademy players at times, still good win, your big squad will pay dividends during this hectic period. 'Bare bones'. We were without our main three defenders, our captain, Joey Barton, and top goalscorer. Maybe instead of blowing £5m on Chopra he could have built a bigger squad to cope with injuries. >__________>
  14. Did he have any say in it? He could've said something against it. Not come out with stuff like "the Glazers have been fantastic for the club" and slagging the anti Glazer fans off, he's still protecting them by claiming he has money to spend when he clearly doesn't. Same goes for Bobby Charlton, their wages are more important than their respect for the club it seems. Well, he could have slagged them off, then walked out on them/get sacked and let the fans do the rest...
  15. Flamini isn't a full back, and has been fairly unhappy about being forced to play as one. http://community.footballpools.com/blog/2010/01/19/mathieu-flamini-man-city-to-beat-tottenham-to-former-gunners-star/
  16. Not really, the bounce made it difficult for the keeper.
  17. I only watched the last 10 minutes, admittedly <_<
  18. The lack of football brains is my guess. Typical pseudo-racist condescending Euro bulls***. Anyway, I;m going back to watch my beloved team throw away everything again. Much like Newcastle, it seems more "if" than "when" Racism?? So what's the reason for Nigerias failings over the years? The quality individuals are and has been there for some time. They do look a little like us circa-Roeder - players running into each other and clearly looking like they've never played with each other.
  19. You could never guarantee anyone's security 100% ever, anywhere. Ok then shall I rephrase. They should not put in an enivronment that is currently the subject of a conflict, as was mentioned in the BBC article. Well, they were driving to Angola from their training camp in Congo-Brazzaville, through a conflict-ridden exclave of Angola. Whose fault was that? Say, there was a tournament in Scotland, and a team bus travelling from their training ground in the Republic of Ireland got attacked by terrorists in conflict-ridden Northern Ireland. Would that be a reason to cancel any tournament held in Europe? games are being held in that conflict ridden region i believe whos fault is that? They are? That detail escaped me. I thought they were just passing through. Angola's fault, then, I suppose. OTOH, teams had been told by the CAF to fly, not travel overland -- a stipulation that the Togo team ignored. They weren't told to fly, the CAF merely "expected" them to fly. ... and the teams are meant to have some of their matches at Cabinda. Are you really expecting them to continue to play under these circumstances?
  20. How bad has Vieira been for Inter?
  21. Making the assumption that our squad stays fit for 80%~ of the season, yes. That would include the likes of Barton so thats optimistic to say the least.
  22. Who are we supposed to buy to replace Colo, with only 3 mil?
