God fucking damn. How much do Sky love Tottenham. This is a nothing game when Wigan get to the final. This year the buildup is like Brazil '70 vs Real Madrid '68. Tuned in at 12 to see Reading-Villa, and then watch Chelsea's inevitable march to victory (Come on Chelsea btw). I dont think either team has been mentioned yet...and the kick off is in 10 minutes.

Relegation - will we or won't we? *NO FIXTURE LISTS PLEASE*

I noticed that yesterday...I believe that if the league table was worked out purely on GD, you would be in the relegation zone with Derby and Reading. Ouch. Still. I voted no. I dont think the 6 point gap to Reading is big enough to say its not a very real possibility, but I just feel that the games at home to Sunderland, Reading and Fulham...especially with everyone aware of the circumstances...will be what will swing it in your favour. However(!). Something has to change. You've been awful for a good long while now, why is it that the same team is being sent out week after week after week. Alan Smith, Nicky Butt amongst others are performing poorly on a consistent basis but still playing every game, Nzogbia being selected at fullback regularly. Surely if youre in a slump you have to change something? Or you'll never get out of it. I cant say I understand whats going on. -
HT Break? Allow me to fill the 15 minute void with this picture of Stephen Ireland's new car. http://img.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2008/02_03/IrelandPinkRange_800x459.jpg And no, it isnt photoshopped.

This. What did he say? Re: Gallas. Something like "There's being disappointed, and there's being daft, you're being daft son, get up"
-
Gallas' reaction is somewhat understandable given the circumstances. Fuck off Richard Keys, you smarmy heartless twat.

Shearertastic pelanty there. Pick that one out.

"A minute's applause for Len Boyd, who captained Birmingham in the 1956 FA Cup final and died this week at the age of 84. Meanwhile Arsenal are wearing black armbands today in honour of Bacary Sagna's brother Omar, who died suddenly last week." http://football.guardian.co.uk/news/matchreport/0,,2259405,00.html

It was in the News of the World last sunday that we wanted him (Also for £12m). Personally I'm not convinced, I don't watch the SPL (Where apparently he is fantastic) but I've seen him play plenty of times for Ireland and he's never really done owt. He must be playing well at the moment tho cos I went on a Celtic forum to see what they thought, they all reckoned hes worth miles more than £12m and he can do much better than MCFC.... and today...they get word of this story... http://kerrydalestreet.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=63573&st=20 "This kid idn't leaving for the Man Citys or Newcastles or Aston Villas of this world. He's destined for much greater things." "McGeady has a higher opinion of himself than Newcastle and Celtic have a higher valuation in mind than 12m." "When he does leave it won't be to some mid table EPL team." ...etc.

Edgar unhappy with lack of first-team action - agent

More because the signings these young players are being added too....eg Huth, O'Neill, Aliadiere, are very average at best. -
Do you expect me to talk? http://img87.imageshack.us/img87/9715/tranaldouz6.jpg No Krustiano, I expect you to die!

At the end of this year i think it is, he has lived in England for so long and not played for spain so he would become elligible! I cant think of any better options than having Almunia and James tbh! This country doesnt have its own Buffon/Casillas! I'll be very surprised if Almunia is allowed to play for England. He's not good enough for us to resort to playing someone who can only play because they've lived here for a few years. I seem to remember reading when Capello was appointed that the FA told him he wasnt allowed to pick foriegners like Almunia, Cudicini, Arteta...

you know why andy carroll never had or probably will never get a proper chance.........................because he's not good enough. i've heard the same thing said about joe allon, paul brayson, paul robinson and michael chopra...."you never know till you try them" pile of s***. tell you what, you never know i might have been good enough just wasn't given a chance. Agree with this. He was 4th choice to Ormerod, Agyemang & Mellor for half a season in a team in the bottom 3 in the Championship, and yet now people want him getting a game for us? Is it fair to write off a young player making his way in the game for failing to shine in one of the worst sides in the division? He did alright in pre-season. -
I'm watching this game, first time I'll have seen this guy play. If he's half as good as Pato from Pocoyo, he'll be alright by me.

Zaire defender charging out of the wall in WC 74. Absolute fucking magic. Living the dream. I'd love to do that to Cristiano Ronaldo.

This. Fuking hell talk about jumping the gun like. Its not just that he said he was interesting, its the dismissive way that he talks about his rivals for the position that has got the papers jumping the gun. What has he actually said word for word? He's not even mentioned a single name has he not? He's just talking about how hard his job is by the amount of foreign players there are in the league using the keeper issue as an example. "I was forced to re-instate a 37 year old goalkeeper" Charming.

The thing with sticking with James is, he'll be almost 40 come the next World Cup...and we've seen with Seaman and Shilton previously the folly of sticking with goalies till that age. I think James is the best goalie in the league right now and for the past few years but come 2010 will he have enough spring in his step to claw away the inevitable looping free kick? I have my doubts. From what I have seen of Joe Hart I do feel he has the ability to play for England, and on form looks a better player than all his rivals bar James. But its much too soon, I don't think he's made a single howler that has cost us a goal yet, he's far too wet around the ears to play for the full side, being able to make saves and take a catch isn't enought, he's yet to show his character. So...IMO, I think they should forget James (Sorry, your time has gone), but the eye for the future shouldn't be turned to Hart just yet. I think Robert Green deserves a chance. If he takes it, good look to the lad, if he doesnt, maybe then look at Hart. But not now.

I think KK will attack, when he was here we always attacked them, the two times we beat them (COYB!!!) when he was in charge of the mightyish and not so mighty blues we were a goal up inside 5 mins both games. -
Story floating around the wires this morning...A lot of the papers have picked up on these quotes Don Fabio has given on italian radio and are thinking Joe Hart will be the new England #1 come France next month. I don't know how to do a poll () but who do you think it should be? I think Hart looks as talented as anyone but he's only played 20 games - Is that too inexperienced to be thrown at the deep end at international level? Or should it be a case of blooding him with an eye on WC 2010 rather than have him come in when the chips are down like Carson. Or is he the wrong man altogether and we should be sticking with James, or going for Green or someone else....in which case who?
