  1. Seeing this and similar in the Pardew thread. Who would generally be perceived as the most 'talented' team to get relegated from the PL? West Ham in 02/03?
  2. Good couple of goals from Fletcher tbf.

I do find it bizarre like, how much leeway he's getting. Can't understand it at all. I've typically been one of the first to start the Souness/Roeder Out bandwagon so I'm used to having to wait until the majority come to their senses but I've seen people who know their football on Facebook tonight saying they're "Team Pardew" I just cannot get my head round it. This form is far worse than anything we've come close to before. A combination of Ashley induced apathy and years of everything that goes wrong at NUFC being attributed to our 'unreal expectations' by media fuckwits. As I said in the success thread, over the last five years we have been conditioned to accept any old shit. Become scared shitless of venting any dissatisfaction in case we get accused of owning a bed sheet. Be it local journalists, fanzines or supporters in L7 - public criticism of the current regime has been silenced through a combination of carrot and stick. It's taken today's low point to wake some of them from their trance. The rest will no doubt carry on putting self interest ahead of the club's best interests. It matters little if AP stays or goes, he's a symptom not the cause. Sorry but I disagree. Ashley's a tight arse but it's not our recruitment policy which has led to this shambles. Granted we lack ambition but we have a squad which should be more than capable of being in the top half of the table any month of the year. There is no hiding from that, and deflecting the blame does us no good whatsoever. We managed to finish 5th last season ffs. What happened the last time we failed to build on such a promising position (Shepherd & Sir Bobby)? We finished 5th the season after 3rd. Anyone claiming that this is because of Ashley's management of the club is just trying to use it as yet another stick to beat him with imo, like there aren't enough already. Pardew needs to take the slack for this. A fair manager could have this squad top ten at least, whilst dealing with the 'unprecedented' injury troubles. We've not had injury troubles to the extent that it's turned a team of internationals that finished 5th last season into relegation fodder.

Watch us win the Europa and get relegated. Madness. Classic Pards. Winning something.

For the love of God I hope the lift bit wasn't a joke, either.

So frustrated at the amount of people that peddle the 'he's got it tough' bullshit. My mate earlier used 'injury crisis, 'restricted by Ashley', 'European football', '5th last season', 'end of season least he deserves', 'Di Matteo and Adkins, want it to be like that?'. Just fuck off.

Ban this sick filth. Kneejerk. Troll.
  8. Can't sniff at that from £2 like. Good work.
  9. So West Brom pull it back to give me hope but can't pull it off. Bottling shitecunts. What'd you get in the end, SSR?
  10. Could you imagine us in Villa's position there trying to attack at the end?
  11. Pass back there? When was the last time a pass back was actually punished? Depressing hearing that crowd. Just thinking how St James' isn't reaching that volume any time soon.

Haven't been watching Villa but our first half today wasn't that bad actually either. Some great saves of their keeper. Without that we would have been 2 or 3 goals up and the game was over before the restart. The biggest complaint of his 'we're missing players' bullshit is that today's first half was a perfect example of the way this team can play if they're allowed.

There was nothing unique about it at the time. Replacing a physically weak and frail attacking midfielder with a more defensively stout one while leading 1-0 is a perfectly logical thing to do. People like to use hyperbole when they have hindsight. In fact, we have played good football before with Perch and Anita in midfield. The much larger issue is the general attitude the team played with, especially after Reading scored a goal. We seemed fairly comfortable before that. We were too scared to attack after we scored and for all the focus on defence, the team capitulated and fell into chaos after allowing the fortuitous equaliser. We've seen this story a multitude of times this season. I had no hindsight when I booed the decision at the time. It was obvious how fucking backwards the decision was. I put £100 on them to score as soon as it happened, see betting thread. Think you are clearly wrong Segun. It's a smart thing to do if the pressure's there. The only reason the pressure was there was his own decision making. Agreed, it is also to do with his general tactical choices and making the team sit back on the lead. But the substitution was in turn pure idiocy, because you knew what it was leading to. And it just confirmed that that was his genuine game plan. It wasn't the players falling to pieces of their own accord. With that one substitution he confirmed fans fears that he's an absolute bottler and can't handle a team of players with any actual footballing ability. IMO.
  14. I keep looking at the scores and keep asking myself why the fuck I did Palace/Blackburn/Millwall. All about evens, no need for £15 on it.

    Don't be so logical damnit!

Yes, Alan. The players. You keep fucking telling yourself that. Good way of deflecting it from the players, btw. Top notch.

I couldn't give a fuck if they've got tactical nous. It's officially a step up on this turgid bucket of monkey spunk currently being served up as an excuse for football management.
  18. I want to say ballsy but it was more smart than ballsy. If I had such brainwaves during the match other than anger I would've done the same, nowhere near that stake like. Nice one, man.
