I thought a draw was just about right. We were very good for 20 minutes, then absolute cack, then vaguely better again. You were solid but unspectacular for 90 minutes. Neither teams played particularly well, though, and for us the wheels haven't just falled off, they've rolled down to the bottom of a very steep hill. I'd swap MON for Moyes in the summer. A draw was probably fair but after being ahead twice, especially as the away side, I'm pissed off not to hold on for the 3 points. There were about five individual errors by our players for the equaliser too. Bloody frustrating. I think you're doing us a discredit saying we were just solid though. Both teams had periods of domination but I felt that whenever we were on top, we were playing more attractive passing football than Villa were in their spells. Some of the stuff we played from about 15mins gone until half time was top quality.

Absolutely gutted.

Inconsistent. He has those games where you see that he can be very good, and then be anonymous for the next three. To his credit, he's been playing in some truly turboshit sides. Valladolid are very likely to get relegated, so you could probably snap him on the cheap. Speaking of Valladolid ... how has Manucho looked for them? I think that's where he is now anyway. Didn't really get a look in at Man U and I only some him a couple of times when he was on loan at Hull. I remember him being tall, athletic and quick, but not much else. Would he be someone worth looking at? I watched them play Sevilla last night and he was ok. Made a nuisance of himself with his strength and won his fair share in the air, also scored a goal which was pretty well taken (but it was an easy chance tbf). His technique seemed poor though and he was just used as a battering ram basically. Gerry Armstrong was saying it was one of the better games he'd had for Valladolid this season... probably one to avoid if that's the case cause he was nothing special. Didn't do much at Hull either iirc.

In the summer of 1994, the Jungle (North enclosure), East Terracing and West Terracing were demolished. Even pre-94 they weren't getting anywhere near what they have averaged since the stadium was rebuilt though.

1994-95 24,601 1995-96 34,342 1996-97 47,504 1997-98 48,532 1998-99 59,271 That's a bloody ridiculous increase in such a short space of time.

This is such nonsense, man. Mourinho's record speaks for itself, man. Which parts of his record? Porto? and Chelsea. A lot of people dismissed the titles he won because of the money spent but look how Scolari struggled there, Grant never managed to win it either and imo Ancelotti's side isn't as good as Mourinho's old Chelsea side even though they will win the title this season.

Yeah, Bily isn't fast really. His delivery can be very good and he's scored his fair share of goals (a few of which have been great strikes) but he's massively inconsistent and has struggled with the pace & physicality of the league. Moyes admitted as much recently, I think that's why he's been playing him on the wing all season instead of in the hole. I think next season he will be better and we might see him start to get the odd game as a #10.

It's in all the Belgian media by the looks of it. Apparently Spurs, Villa & Bayern were interested in signing him the same summer we bought him while Chelsea & Madrid had been scouting him as one for the future. Chelsea's chief scout (some Dutch guy) was quoted talking about him a few months ago. I'd be gutted if he was sold so quickly. His performances this season were absolutely immense until the injury. With Heitinga having done such a good job at DM though (correct me if I'm wrong) if someone was to come in with megabucks surely it would be a good move to sell and bring in another striker and a top class RB. Heitinga does a good job of breaking up play but will never be able to dominate a midfield and dictate the game like Fellaini was starting to on a regular basis. I'd rather sell Rodwell tbh (if we must sell anyone, don't think we do). Ah s*** forgot about Rodwell, knew there was another DM you had. Midfield, you lads certainly seem strong could probably do with another wide man as well as a RB and another front man in my eyes. Those three players and a decent run with injuries i reckon Everton could be challenging for the Champs Lge next season (depending on who the others buy) Yeah, you're spot on. We need a pacey winger, a more reliable striker than Saha & Yak and a right back to get rid of Neville. Hopefully Coleman can be the latter but I think Moyes just loves Neville too much to drop him. Yes, but so is Fellaini. Difference is that Fellaini is almost the finished article imo. Rodwell is still 2/3 years off from that so if we were forced to sell then I'd probably rather sell Rodwell since they'd both command similar prices.

GG has posted during and after a game = nothing about him going to games. The Everton lads have posted during and after a game = nothing about them going to games. Ash has posted during and after a game = Nothing about him going to games. Brummie has done the same thing also. All i ask for is exactly the same treatment as all the others get. This thread is title "The other games today" so no point getting hostile when i post about other games. Ahem. I have a season ticket and go to the odd away game. That's probably why nobody has said anything to me

Surely champions. That will be remembered, put on the honours list etc An undefeated home record would be forgotten about pretty quickly.

I don't think that's the Bernabeu, there's a Standard Liege crest in the box and a Europa League banner underneath Eagle eye, me

Apparently Fellaini was a guest of Real Madrid vs Barca the other night, sitting with Zidane & Perez

The ones who support Rafa are the deluded ones. Long may he stay there! Not really. He's done very well there, they came 2nd last season. They have a bad year, with Gerrard in rubbish form and 2 clubs around them spending loads, and no credible alternative has been offered. If they had someone lined up that was better than Rafa, it would maybe make sense, but they're not going to get a better manager. Not sure how City's takeover has affected the figures but until last year Benitez had a higher net spend over his period in charge than any other manager in the country. Don't buy into the absolute rubbish spouted by him in the press (and lapped up by their fans) that he hasn't had the financial backing to succeed. It's just a lie to protect himself. iirc he's been there for about 6 years. Despite his massive spending on a squad which Houllier had already spent a fortune assembling they have won only 2 trophies and challenged for the title only once. He's about to finish outside the top 4 for the second time in his reign. I'm sure there's more than a few managers out there who could match or better his record with that kind of money and an already decent squad.

I can understand why they do it what happend there was horrible and atleast from what i gather from the film it was a bit of a cover up by S Yorkshire police and also what the sun wrote about them aswell. Correct. South Yorkshire Police and their incompetence played a massive part in the deaths of all those fans and nothing has ever been done about it, that's why they still "harp on" about it and that's why, yes, they are "owed something". You've just shown yourself to be either a w***** or very ignorant of the subject. If it's the latter then maybe you should think before you start throwing criticism around to try and win a bit of approval from other posters on here. Fair enough. That still was 25 years ago and I honestly don't understand why it is brought week in week out *today*. I'm aware of The Sun business, and if I recall correctly they issued a quite thorough apology a few years ago. Monumentally late, but they did. Really, it makes absolutely no sense to keep going with it the way they do. Thorough apology = "Shit, we've had 20-odd years of rock bottom sales all across Merseyside... thought it would have blown over by now. Best stick an apology in and see if things pick up"
-
and for the record, I hate their fans more than anyone. Their arrogance, massive amount of glory hunters that have never watched a game outside their local pub, the myth they have built up about Benitez not spending anything, their fickleness, their stupid banners, embarassing songs... bunch of idiots. One thing you certainly can't criticise them for is Hillsborough though.

Please explain to me how a professional footballer being paid a fortune can be excused for not having the respect or self-discipline to refrain from messing around for a massive 60 seconds during a minutes silence for supporters deaths.

conned yourselves. you's were awful majority of the game apart from a few spells. Pompy deserve it. Gimme a break, you have eyes i presume. Crouch legit goal disallowed for f*** all. Palacios clean tackle and dodgy , c*** , piece of total s*** ref gives a pen. Finnan arms out like a raving lunatic, ball hits outstretched arm and knob head piece of crap ref says no pen (the same thing we conceded a pen for last week btw). Even the little decisions went Pompey's way. Knob head ref calls free kick when we're on that attack every single time. Knob head ref gives Pompey another go when they mess up quick free kick. Piece of trash ref gives Pompey a free kick for their first goal for f*** all. You're right about the decisions. Wiley was as crap as ever. However, Spurs were shit and deserved to lose.
-
"HOW ON EARTH HAS THAT HAPPENED??!" What, one premiership team beating another? Fucking tossers.
-
Clearly got the ball, not a pen. Wiley is so shit. Quite happy for Portsmouth though
-
Commentators going on about Portsmouth setting themselves up to defend and ask Spurs to break them down despite Pompey being on top for the previous ten minutes. A minute later Pompey then create the best chance so far. Spurs arse lickers.

I saw him in the flesh against us at Goodison and he was very good. Poor mans Drogba which is still > most strikers.
