    La Liga - 10/11

The Gol Tv commentary with the American and the excitable mackem fella is the most entertaining.

He wouldn't have the tactical knowledge to know how to go about it. All he knows is how to contain teams and grind out wins. How did they end up with that +50 goal difference then? Not that hard when the rest of La Liga is p**s poor in comparison. They'd do the same in the Premier league. I don't think it'd be that high, but it would be sizable I agree. The weaker teams in England are considerably worse than the weaker teams in Spain tbh.

Barcelona don't need to win, Madrid do. Barca have been far more reserved than normal.
  5. Go along with that. Milan were better defensively but Barca are awesome going forward. Would have been a superb match. Aye. Would have been class to see Maldini, Baresi, Costacurta and Tassotti up against Barcelona's attacking finesse. People underrate the attacking class that that Milan side had as well though. They were the complete team.
  6. The early-90s Milan side were the closest I've seen to them in my lifetime.
  7. Funny, the massive gap between our midfield and our strikers makes me realise he isn't...

    Shearer's bar

An well trusted source of information. The same one that said Adam Johnston was going to sign? Nah that was me winding everyone up for a little bit of revenge on here for unfounded remarks about my mental health. "Cunts are calling me a psychotic murderer, I'll prove them wrong by chopping them up".
  10. Xavi and Iniesta were "superb", Wilshere was the best of a bad bunch of Arsenal players on the day.
  11. I was going to say, I thought it had happened last night too.
  12. Looks more like a winger to me. His positioning and physique don't really resemble a full-back.
  13. I don't think Campbell was to blame for the goal - Richardson should never have had that much space to pick out a cross, and it ended up being a very difficult one to defend. Lovenkrands is definitely the weak link, he just contributes nothing whatsoever.
  14. Pardew could have had every indication that he was fit enough to start. It's never easy to tell with muscle injuries.
  15. Liverpool haven't had a "passing game" for ages tbf. Is that so? How did Torres score so many goals then? Was he in the right place to receive the knock-downs from Stevie Gerrard with whom he combined so successfully? I forgot how prolific Torres was under Hodgson. Perhaps "ages" was an exaggeration, but it was certainly destroyed before Kenny arrived.
  16. He did something similar to that against Man City too. I vaguely remember him sliding to keep in an overhit pass, before standing up and whipping in this cross which Shearer burried with his head. Was the day England won the world cup iirc. He did something similar to that against Man City too. Stopped the ball going out of play then whipped it in to Shearer, who netted with his head. Good point. I'm surprised that hasn't been mentioned, it was brilliant. Probably one of my favourite Bernard moments.

  18. Nilmar is fucking class. Comes on for ten minutes and just casually rapes Leverkusen.
  19. So was I. That was one of the several occasions where he backed off too much... Simpson was as much at fault for just jogging back when he could see that Osman was in acres like.
  20. You do have a point. and yet many have had a go at simpson this season for backing off far too much, largely due to often being left isolated by barton. yes barton puts a shift in but the weakest part of his game is the defensive partnership with his full back, it's then he still looks like he's playing out of position. Taylor never backed off, he was just in the wring possission all together leading up to Arteta recieving the ball. Was poor defensive play all round like, not just Taylor. He never backed off? Are you kidding? There were several occasions where he backed off so much that he was nearly in the stadium's toilets.

    Kevin Nolan

For someone who was fucked after 70 minutes, he made a great last ditch tackle/block around the 85th minute after sprinting back from the other end of the pitch.
