  1. Haha, that basically summarised my reaction to the article.
  2. Some of the posts in here are absolutely mental. I can understand opposition fans being against Taylor's call up, but for our own supporters to be so... unsupportive of one of our players (and not only one of our players, but one of our home grown players), just typifies our attitude over the last five/ten years, really, and it typifies why so many opposition fans see us as a massive fucking laughing stock.
  3. Gosh? Is it? WOOOOOOOOAH! Big Sam and his Big Team of Big Medical expects would probably tell you that if you throw a player in at the deep end after doing so little, it probably makes you more vunerable to injuries such as that one. Jesus fucking christ, of course it does. But why should that have any bearing whatsoever on Owen's decision? If I'd done fuck-all all season and spent half of my time playing golf and sitting in a treatment room, and Sven came up to me and said "Vanna go to ze vorld cup sonny jim?" I'd snap his fucking hands off SO FAST then slap him with it SO HARD to make sure he wasn't out of his frigging head. Then I'd go, of course. And so would you.
  4. Exactly. Put yourself in his boots for a minute ffs, there is NO WAY IN HELL any single one us would turn around to SVE and say "Yeah, sorry mate, I'd love to play in the world cup and that, but because I was injured all season and it might make me look bad infront of the newcastle fans, I better not. Thanks anyway though. I'll just hop back into the starting line-up whenever I'm ready, yeah? Ok, keep me a place. Cheers." FFS.
  5. He has nice hair, that's for sure.
  6. Haha, such supreme arrogance. Anyway, you're bang-on. Right back and a centre half and I think we're looking alright. Certainly when compared to last years squad.

    Bramble's Latics debut

Yeah, that was the actual quote from the bbc website iirc.
  8. Midds SO alert. Have a jaffa cake son. Son? Be quiet or I'll change your name to 'Lost is shit'. Listen mate, just try it you power hungry FUCKER. I remember the days before my admin powers were randomly disabled and this was all fields. No lip from us "moderators" back then. We respected our lower mortals and treated them as if they were almost even. Which they weren't. But we still let them think they were, unlike YOU LOT.

  10. Now it looks like I'm talking to myself on the previous page. Thanks for that.
  11. Haha, where the fuck has my delete button gone? All my moderator powers have been WIPED OUT. I am... I am human again
  12. Ugh, don't quote it ffs.
  13. *Shouts at Dave for being too slow to delete this link*
  14. Yeah, Keane is absolutely bang-on here. I can understand players acting in the interest of their kids (i.e. Nobby); but turning down a bigger club for a smaller club because of things like shopping and lifestyle says an awful lot about their value as a team player.
  15. Magorific... You have the mate who works at the chronicle or something, right? Or is that someone else? If it is you then I'm inclined to believe this.
  16. I am praying he comes in and does well so when people turn round to me and say "yeah but you wanted us to sign Faye" it doesn't sound that bad Haha, yeah, but you had a Shola Ameobi avatar for about three years or something, and people aren't going to forget that... so either way you still come out looking pretty rubbish, really, Jon. It doesn't matter if people forget about your "sign faye!" pleas. I think its best that we all just accept that you're rubbish and move on.
  17. Good wing-back, very average full-back. I'd have him for the simple fact that he's better than Carr and there doesn't seem to be much else on the market. In no way, shape or form is he anything more than a short-term answer though.
  18. I like that phrase. Sounds like something a character in a Dickens novel would say.
  19. Yeah, especially in the case of Dyer. I'd have snapped that £6 million out of West Ham's hands so quickly and brutally that they couldn't w*** again, personally. me too. Its about double what he's worth, and what we dod was f****** stupid. I was happy with £5m but hopefully Curbishley's stupid enough to give us £7m for Solano and Dyer which will get the deal done. i'd take £5m for the pair of them. Not so sure about that like... I mean, yeah, given the circumstances £5m would seem reasonable... But, you know... we'd look a little bit silly ditching both of them for a lower fee than West Ham bid for one of them.

    Want Diouf?

Good footballer, but obviously a total cunt. However, I think his level of "cuntage" drops when he's wearing your shirt... So yeah, I'd probably have him. As backup. Maybe.
  21. Yeah, especially in the case of Dyer. I'd have snapped that £6 million out of West Ham's hands so quickly and brutally that they couldn't wank again, personally.
  22. Perhaps he doesn't want him and the kids to go through all that shit? Exactly, massive pile of horseshit half the comments I have read in this thread. I bet half those slagging Nobby don't even have kids themselves but they still feel they are qualified to give judgement about how often Nobby should see his kids. Fuck off! Have to agree with Jon here. I'd like to gamble that each and every one of us in this thread, without a single exception, would put our family - and especially our CHILDREN - ahead of our job. That's all Nobby's doing, and I really don't see the issue. Some of the comments in here are pathetic and nothing short of fickle, basically -- especially when you consider that they're aimed towards a player who has given absolutely everything he possibly could in his two stints with us.
  23. That's true enough. How it'll basically work is, when a moderator sees a post that he feels is in violation of the rule, he is fully entitled to deal with it himself, but I think I speak for most of us when I say that we'll probably end up sticking most things in the admin forum to get the majority opinion before we act. It's very rare that the decision will be made based on the interpretation of one person. That's pretty much how work for most of the other rules too, apart from in cases of BLATANT rule breaking.
