  1. Aye there's absolutely nothing normal about Eddie's quotes, especially, as others have pointed out, considering Isak travelled and then went home. Eddie typically gives absolutely nowt away and entirely dilutes any potential drama, which makes these soundbites feel all the more strange.
  2. Eddie is not this daft, the cynic in me thinks this might be some PR to make it look like Isak pushed leave, should it happen. The club know it won't land well with fans if they sell him.
  3. I mean yeah that quote definitely sounds at least mildly concerning. If nothing else it's a strange decision in that it just throws far more fuel on the flames.
  4. I for one am livid that we've lost the first meaningless game we've played since the most successful season in my lifetime ended.
  5. Anyone else worried PIF might lose patience with Howe after this?
  6. Best of luck to him. Scored some important goals, had some good games, and overall in terms of performances for us, has been the most impactful player from our youth setup in ages - not a huge achievement, but it's better than a few players who had more potential than him can say. It's the right time for him to move on assuming we sign someone else.
  7. Pretty sure that entire narrative has come from the initial Romano tweet where he said "Liverpool can now move for Ekitike" as a result of the bid being rejected. Not even a committal sentence, everyone else seems to have ran with it.
  8. These cunts are all playing a game of 3D Connect 4 with us
  9. It makes no sense to sell for anything other than an absurd price. We'd leave ourselves with no striker and put ourselves in a terrible negotiating position for replacing him.
  10. Realistically, and perhaps pessimistically, the one sold would eventually be Isak you'd imagine. I'd guess we're going to try to squeeze one more season out of him then eventually phase in Ekitike/Osula, if this deal goes through.
  11. Getting some déjà vu here lads, let's not get excited
  12. I believe we're interested in him, but I can see it being similar to João Pedro where if someone else comes in and drives the price up, we'll back off. If we're going to get this done we need to move fast.

A big chunk of their fanbase wouldn't even have been alive then, or certainly not old enough to have any influence. Always found tarring entire fanbases a bit weird, unless they're mackems.
  14. The best thing I can say about Longstaff is that he's achieved and contributed far more here than a huge number of players with vastly more natural ability. Scored some important goals, delivered some genuinely good performances in spells. However, it is definitely the right time for him to move on. We must replace him though.
  15. It's a reasonable fee, the problem is we'd have to replace him given the additional fixtures this season. £15m gets this done though I reckon.

The lesson in all of this is don't read twitter/X. The site is built to monetize and farm engagement. The easiest way to get engagement at this time of year is to drip feed conflicting transfer stories to rile both fanbases up.

We're waiting on PIF approving a new bulb
  18. "I will cherish these moments forever" hit me pretty hard too. We say things like this without realising that "forever" can actually be a matter of days or weeks. Really sad stuff.
  19. I honestly don't think he ever would have made it as more than a bit-part player here. It's clearly helped him moving to a club where the expectations were a bit lower and he could establish himself in the team as a key player. He always looked like he was playing within himself for us, like he didn't quite believe he belonged. The move has worked out well for all parties.
