    Captain

Smith must be the worst choice of Captain i have ever seen. It makes me imagine giving Bowyer the captaincy for some reason - unthinkable.
  2. I wouldn't have said we have nothing bad to say about Martins. Yes, he provided a threat despite no service, but he headed a relatively free header too close to their keeper early on and was so terrified of missing his best chance that he put no power on it at all. Could and should have scored at least one. He was OK, pluses and minuses.
  3. This pretty much summarises my long post at the start. sorry mate couldn't be bothered to read it i'm knackered I didn't mean anything by it mate, just pleased that you had pretty much exactly the same opinion as me.
  4. Going to bed now. Annoyed with life.

  6. Really? I was very impressed, saw him do very little wrong. Maybe it was just in comparison to everything else. Midfield contributed virtually nothing, leaving the defence under constant pressure. Gameplan seemed to be Rozenhal whacking it to Shola on the left wing for flickons, or for Senderos to mess up.
  7. Yeah, that's why I said: Just got back at the start
  8. Ameobi played left wing, N'zog was in the centre until Emre came on. It was awful. Smith thought he was still passing to players in Red.
  9. Spent so long writing this post in main thread it had been hijacked and locked before I could post. Thought it was worth a thread to discuss Enrique's positive contribution, if not to dwell on the overall crapness of everything else. Here it is: Just got back. Shower of shite. Sorry mods if I use strong language. Player ratings Given 7 - Some good saves, but failed to command his area to any extent Beye 6 - Looked pacy but struggled with Walcott Taylor 7 - Should start every game. Quick and strong. Rozenhal 5 - Played himself into trouble often. Cleared it up well mostly, but shouldn't have let it happen in the first place. Seemed at fault for first goal from what I saw. Was poor going forwards and left himself out of position. Enrique 8 - MOTM The one bright point in the whole game. Looked strong and reasonably quick, dealt with threats down his flank, often helped Rozenhal out of his messes. Also looked a threat going forwards first half with some good balls into the box, especially given his left wing partner Shola Ame-retard-obi. Faye 6 - Solid but slow N'Zogbia 6 - Little contribution in the centre, but had obviously been singled out as a danger man and was fouled a lot. Smith 3 - Played the ball to an Arsenal player as often as not, comitted fouls and argued the toss about it. No attacking contribution. Ameobi 3 - Left wing wtf? I thought we realised years ago that playing high balls to him on the flank doesn't work. Won a few headers, but lost the ball a lot and made no defensive contribution at all. Was booed off by travelling fans (not by me, but I can understand) Milner 4 - Seemed off the pace, little contribution. Martins 6 - No service, just random long balls. Made himself some chances, but squandered them. Absolutely awful awful miss at 1-0, obviously worried about missing again. Should have had a penalty though, and was singled out like N'Zogbia. Subs: Emre 6 - Added some direction to our passing. Butt 6 - Added some steel when were at 0-0 We were played off the park in all honesty.
  10. Harper (Y) BBC would have put Seamus in there.
  11. I think everyone's being very hopeful about Allardyce's lineup. It seems nailed on to me that Ameobi will start with Martins
  12. ugh, should have read that before I did! hopefully he doesn't have the one where your intestine goes into your sack. This is the inguinal hernia I mentioned, but it only gets that bad if it's left untreated for a long while.
  13. Depends on the kind of hernia. If it's a 'sports hernia' then it's not really a hernia at all, just an irritation of the peritoneum often experienced by footballers. This just gives pain really, and people play through it until it gets too bad. If it's a true hernia it's most likely to be an inguinal hernia. In this case, it needs sorting as the herniated bowel will just increase in volume with strain, and may become incarcirated. Think you and Catmag will be the only ones who understand that tbh In summary: it depends, as 'hernia' can refer to quite a few different conditions

  15. He made a number of good interceptions, and his positional play was good. Can't argue with 2 assists and a goal either, lay off the lad. But I agree that Enrique looked solid and charlie was more threat up front too.
  16. Chelsea one today too easy. Got them all quickly, except the right wing forward (7 letters). Looked it up and don't think I would ever have got it.
  17. Charvet and Maric stumped me too. Got the others in about 5mins. Took me a while to get Lee ffs
  18. I really don't get why people with Mortgages are worried. Surely they've given you the cash now. What's the worst that can happen? Are they allowed to ask for it back more quickly or change interest rates? I would have thought any change of terms would allow you to move your mortgage for free wouldn't it?
