That is very very unfair to Martins. Martins showed good movement, bravery, effort and class in the first half. Since he came to Newcastle Martins has tried a few chips. When would you see Ameobi doing that? That's the difference. Ameobi is an untalented hardworking striker, whereas Martins is an unlucky talented hardworking striker. Keep the faith on Martins.

Here are my thoughts on the Championship 1 Cardiff City - Overachieving due to a good manager (David Jones). They have good championship players who might not cut it in Premiership (Chopra for instance). My bet is for them to be relegated ala Sunderland unless they acquire better quality players. 2 Preston North End - Overachieving too due to the impressive Paul Simpson. 3 West Bromwich Albion - Have a squad of premiership quality. Should do well after replacing the dour Bryan Robson with a more attacking minded Mowbray. 4 Wolverhampton Wanderers - No comments on the squad. But have a decent manager who could lead them to promotion with some lucks. 5 Burnley - No comments 6 Plymouth Argyle - No comments 7 Luton Town - No comments 8 Derby County - No comments 9 Birmingham City - True colour of Bruce is shown. I was staunchly against the appointment of Roeder, because Fat Freaky Shitbird promised us a "world class" manager and I want him to live up to his promise. Also Roeder had not had the relevant coaching license. He had plenty of time to do it but he didn't, even after he recovered. However after he was appointed, I had to lend my support to him. After all, he is a Newcastle United manager and I can't fault him for wanting the job. I blame Fat Freaky Shitbird for all the shambles.

I don't want to get rid of Roeder. Give him a full season.

We should have tried to sign Buffon for 5 million pounds. He is quality and he will provide competition for both Shay Given and Steve Harper. This will please NE5 no end, after all he is an Italian international and world cup winner. Signing him will prove the ambition of the club and the loving care of Freddie Shepherd. More importantly, Buffon at 5 millions transfer fee and 5 millions signing on fee would be too tempting to turn down.

Fair enough sorry for my insinuation. However Carragher has been seriously below par this season and I think Kuyt, Alonso, Finnan, Hyppia, Reina and perhaps Bellamy are all first class footballers.
