  1. Paul Le Guen (sacked by Rangers) Rafael Benitez (sacked by Liverpool) Alan Curbishley (would stabilise and consolidate our club)
  2. Roeder looks to window What's the bold bit supposed to mean? I have chewed it a thousand times and I can't understand it completely. I guess Roeder is saying that if Luque is not bought to play, there is no point buying him!!? If so what's the Manchester thing about? Also, it was Souness who bought and use Roeder, right? What's the point Roeder is making? Or have I simply misunderstood Roeder completely?
  3. If injuries do not count then my line-up would be England Foster Neville Ferdinand Terry A.Cole Lennon Hargreaves Gerrard J.Cole Rooney Owen Eire Given Finnan McShane Dunne O'Shea McGeady S.Reid A.Reid Duff Doyle Keane I think England will win. England are simply stronger in all areas except keeper and manager.
  4. blueyes.gif blueyes.gif Not that if I were the manager I would want them in my squad. But Roeder's obsession with big target man means that John Carew is a good option. I would love to buy Darren Bent too, even if it means paying 10 millions for him. He would be a good long term buy who can produce results immediately.

    Andy Johnson

I havent seen last nights incident but the one against Fulham was indeed laughable. The guy just brushed Johnsons knees and he went down quicker than a $2 whore. Arsene is right about Johnson he is always looking for it and i'm glad Fulham beat you after that. Like I have said i havent seen last nights but I wouldnt be surprised if its the same old Johnson's legs get touched and he's suddenly on the ground like a right mincer. How is it laugable? <Snip> How could you stay on feet if you are pushed by both leg and hand simultaneously? It is a blatant foul.
  6. I really hope that Paul Le Guen is sacked by Rangers and snapped up by us. This is only the first season Le Guen is in charge of Rangers. Picture Benitez's first season in Liverpool, or Ferguson's first 6 seasons in Man U.

    Andy Johnson

I have to feel sorry for this lad. He doesn't dive yet he has been denied so many penalties. Many people call his season with Crystal Palace in Premiership a fluke due to the number of penalties he won. But it takes a good, dangerous and smart forward to draw so many penalties. Referee should make decisions according to his intepretation of the real situation, and let not the reputation of the players affect his mind. Even if the referees are to go for players reputation, they should realise that Johnson is not a serial diver (Drogba, Gerrard, Rooney). Graham Poll is no longer the best referee in this country, or this league.
  8. If you don't care, you can easily opt out from this thread.
  9. I am well convinced that if it was Ben Foster who was between the post last night for Watford, we wouldn't have won the game.
  10. It only takes one idiot to do something stupid and as you so consistantly demonstrate, there are pelnty of them about. Ooh, an insult. But i guess the no insulting ideas doesn't include big powerful people like you? Your postings are occasionally - although only very occasionally - interesting, but the most memorable thing about you is the stupid action with the aforementioned thread. Well done. Where does it say no insulting ideas? If you're that hurt by it click "report to moderator", I won't interfere, if it's considered worthy of a ban I'll happily take one, I wouldn't want such a delicate-flower as yourself to suffer any traumatising mental anguish due to something I said. Don't worry yourself, mate. The day anyone is actually genuinely bothered by someone like you would be a ****ing sad day indeed. Keep it up though - your saving of the team hotel in London is a very valuable public service. Good boy. Makes this thread pretty moronic.... Agreed, GeJon. Agreed. Agreed!

    Congrats Sir Alex.

What a load of b*llocks! I admit the bias of my personal opinions is beyond Al-Jazeera standard and I've glossed over a lot of his achievements but there a few facts in there and they stand up to scrutiny. Can you explain United's European record from 1999 to present? He has never had any shortage of money in his United career but if memory serves he has won the total of ONE knockout tie since that robbery in Barcelona - And that was against Olympiakos. Last year they finished BOTTOM of their group! . Hardly top drawer for someone with so much experience and moolah. And do you think the way he "replaced" Keane (IE, he hasn't, despite god knows how many years and god knows how much money) is up to scratch? Actually, I don't disagree much with you Dr Spectrum. Of course he is not ordinary, but to claim that he is extra ordinary, greatest bla bla bla is plainly stupid. As you rightly pointed out, he has always had shitloads of money to spend. Of course it takes a good manager to spend big money wisely, but that he has never been starved of fund allows him to buy success from times to time. He has been in charge of Manchester United for 20 years, long enough to mould an ultimate team that could conquer the Europe - the sign of a trully great manager. But Fergie hasn't, the one he won in 1999 is still a lucky strike. During Fergie's prime in the 90s, he has only had one worthy opponent - Arsene Wenger. And how many times he has lost out to him, despite having a lot more money to spend? I am not undermining Fergie's achievemnt. I say he is a good manager, a great manager. But greatest? Best? I honestly think that if Rafael Benitez is given a few more years in Liverpool, then his team will also overtake Manchester United. Amongst the top 4 only Manchester United still have medicore players like O'Shea, Silvestre, Fletcher etc playing regularly.
  12. Our defense were bad. That Mr Krul was our man of the match is evidence of our shaky defense. Also, apart from Babayaro and Carr, we don't have much choices left. Both Taylor and Ramage are not specialist full backs.
  13. Krul Taylor Bramble Ramage Bernard Solano Pattison Emre O'Brien Rossi Luque
  14. Something different from the doom and gloom of Newcastle United. Simple question. Ben Foster or Scott Carson? Paul Robinson has been proven to be a decent keeper but nothing more than that. Christ Kirkland is not really consistent and is too injury prone for a keeper. Both Carson and Foster are having smashing season thus far. Who, amongst these two, should replace Paul Robinson? Or do you have any other recommendation, such as Nicky Weaver or Steve Harper? For me Ben Foster is a better keeper. Both Carson and Foster are fantastic shot stopper, but Foster dominates the penalty box more. And he releases his balls quickly (due to good football education from Boothroyd), either a long throw to an advancing player or a long kick straight to just outside penalty box for King to wreak havoc. Foster, to me, would soon be the best keeper in premiership.
  15. The money is from us though, yet FFS always claims the credit. Why !?
  16. Delima

    Carlo Cudicini

Ben Foster would be a better option than all mentioned above.

    SWP/Lennon

Definitely a deal for me. Like what Imperio say, the money could be channeled to buy a left winger (N'Zogbia, Downing), giving the team a much better balance while still retaining the potent threat on the right.
  18. I disagree a lot. Defensively we were bad. Tim Krul saves the game for us, not our defenders. How many times our defense is ripped apart easily by throughpass? Save after save, last minute clearance after clearance - these are signs of horrible defense. At least we won, and at least the denders show that they are willing to compensate their poor defensive ability with hardwork.
  19. Good read this. Best of the Champions League.
  20. Ex Newcastle player Andy Cole I mean.
  21. Sol Campbell - Free with huge signing on fee. Joleon Lescott - £2 million with further 1 milllion depending on his appearance. Talented defender with concentration problem. Partnership of him and Bramble, or him and Taylor is a bomb waiting to explode. A huge risk for us, but not for any other club. Jonathan Woodgate - Free. Excellent defender, too injury prone. Him playing on our cursed pitch (or simply bad physio service) represents a massive risk to us, because he won't be able to play often. To me apart from Campbell, I won't buy any of the other 2.
