Agree entirely... what you on about, GM? I'm just fucked off with hearing nothing but negative shit about NUFC...to the extent that when I read that article I just instantly reacted, by reflex, to the apparent lack of commitment to the cause and the apparent self-interest of Obafemi Martins. I'm sick of the way football is these days. Parasitic players leaching millions out of football clubs, and then rewarding fans with half-arsed efforts on the pitch, bringing the game into disrepute on and off the pitch, squeezing the clubs they play for absolutely bone dry for money, and all the while scheming of ways to get paid but skive off. Maybe, in Oba's case, I've over-reacted in this instance. The main point of principle behind what I said stands though. As does the (admittedly shit) analogy about buying Lamborghini's when a fast Mazda will do much the same job for less money. We're not a galactico club. Idolising players to the extent of almost deifying them makes fuck all sense and is in nobody's interests but the player and his agent. Ah, fuck it. I've clearly got to go and find a dog to kick instead.

Martins...get your coat. Ridiculous tbh Martins is one of our true champions league level players. He still has all of his tools, good age etc Not much point having a Lamborghini stuck in the garage when what you actually need and can actually afford is more like an Mazda RX8 though, really...if you'll pardon the excruciatingly shit analogy.

Martins...get your coat. Yep. Owen and Martins cost far too much and offer far too little. There's nothing wrong with a front line of Ameobi and Xisco with Carroll and.....erm......Duff, yes, that'll do, Duff on the bench. In fairness, Xisco's not really had a chance to settle yet - who knows whether he'll turn out to be any good for us or not? Ameobi, aye, fair enough, agree with you on that. I just don't think spending £100K a week on a player like Owen can be justified anymore. Of course, you need firepower, and Oba/Owen provide us with that, but why be so blinkered to the possibilities that exist beyond a world of Owen/Oba upfront?

I'd disagree. Get him signed up, aye, if he's going to get his head down and work hard and be an asset to the team. But if he's got ideas above his station then no, I genuinely wouldnt re-sign him. Not at any price. Would rather get him sold and get us a couple of cloggers like Nugent or Ashton, tbh.

Another highly overpaid prima donna we could well do without. I particularly enjoyed reading the "come and get me" plea he made to Champions' League clubs here: Martins...get your coat.

How the hell did they manage that? It's The Daily Mash though, innit love?! And look there is a laughing smiley after my comment! And here's another one after mine, ya daft bint. mackems.gif

I love my club, I really do, but it doesn't sit easily with me that a half-arsed footballer can command more in weekly wages that your average man in the street will earn in four or five years. It irks me even more when I think about the way they conduct themselves off the pitch, and I don't just mean our players, it's players from clubs and leagues all across Europe.

Heard Ameobi had been approached.....but Bury it is a command he doesn't understand.

Has he had the operation yet? And are the undertakers on standby?

Never been the same since FFS left. *Cue obvious Greggs related joke*

Excuse me, can't you see that people are trying to have a conversation about the old board in this thread? Show some consideration please and stop trying to derail the thread. Yadda yadda. Plain fact is (and yes, I know you're being ironic) I can sum up the situation in a few words and once I've done so, the thread should be put to bed. Forever. It's just commonsense. Something I wish some of my fellow fans had just a smidgen more of.

Do you mean we've got shit admin? Worse than that, Gemmill recently started posting here again.

I bet we're infected by the Toontastic plague.

I wish they'd appoint Ron Atkinson. that'd be great.

Keegan... Roeder... Souness... All out of work at the moment, I think?

I agree too, but who the f would want to come now, I mean really its a total shambles. Anyhow, no matter who the knives will be out in 2-3 months. The only ones immune are KK and Shearer and they wont be heading our way anytime soon.... unless by some miracle a rich middle-eastern oil billionaire suddenly buys out the current shower.... and for whatever reason they seem to be avoiding us like the plague. I blame the fans. Oh....look -> it's a safety wink. Did you just get in from the Biggy? No. Did you just get back from having CWAAFEEE at Central Perk with all your Yankie Doodle Dandy Friends?

He's been putting us through? KK said the squad was too small and quit becasue of it. JK was the ONLY one to have the balls to give it a shot... not even Terry F*cking Vegetables wanted to know. Funny, a couple of months ago it was "Good old Joe" he'sdoing pretty good, now as usual the knives are out, same as for very manager pretty much -- even good old Bobby was lambasted on here. The thing that boils my piss is that KK was wheeled out (after Milner sale) saying that were going to sign this and that and was he accused of being a liar? Joe has done the same after given and he is the biggest liar of all time. The common thread is Llambias/Ashley, not the managers.... both KK and JK have been sold down the river big time. I feel sorry for him, he cant win either way. Oh f***. I'll put a safety wink at the end - just for you - in future. EDIT: Aye, whatever. Maybe you should be the manager, obviously a genius. You think that he deliberately didnt want to sign anyone thus increasing the pressure on himself. So then, wise-guy, why did KK come out with similar statements before the last transfer window??? Pehaps being told by those upstairs that we were (supposedly) making some signings? Oh, sweet baby Jesus and the orphans. I think you're missing the fact I was being sarcastic. Seriously though, if he is too sick to continue, who do you think would come to ruin their reputation in a relegation battle with a small squad containing several massively overpaid and under-performing players? Any takers??? Someone would have to be pretty desperate no, oh like Joe Kinnear!! Peter Reid George Graham David O'Leary Ron Atkinson Avram Grant Just from the top of my head...
