I'd be amazed if Pardew had any say at all. If he was heavily involved in purchasing players we wouldn't be buying players like Ba and Cisse to lead the line then bomb balls on them for 90 minutes. I think Pardew would be looking at different types of player who could handle the basicness (any such word?) of the tactics.

I think its all about putting pressure on the ref. Shola should have went down last night like he had been shot the other ten players should instantly have been around the ref giving him grief. Last week v SAFC we should have harrangued the ref to get Cattermole sent off instead of just seemingly accepting 'it was a booking'

Would any right footed defender feel comfortable enough at left back to consider thats where his career lies? (And Vice versa I suppose) Does Santon himself see himself as a left back or is he just 'playing for the team'? Opposition will already have worked out that offensively no crosses will be delivered from his left foot and so he'll majority of time cut back onto his right.

Students at Sunderland Uni where advised NOT to enter the town centre at a weekend or a Wednesday night to socialise. I taight a lot of Asian, Black Uni students and they all pretty much suggested they suffer racism on a regular basis. More than once I witnessed it myself.
