Mackem game is off I'm told.

Be interesting to see how the mackems wage bill to turnover stands this evening. Must easily breach 90%. I think Sess will move on to attempt to balance the books. £25m spent on 38k attendances.

Transfer windows are a restraint of trade and would be blown out the water if any Club decided to take it to law.
-
Fletcher isn't worth half the reported fee. AJ must be devastated a bigger and better Club than SAFC didn't come in for him. Man City to SAFC in your prime years. Any pro would see that as a massive step down in class (if not wages)

Just look at the bench v Spurs and you'll see the squad is still desperately thin. If we had a bad run of injuries we'd be hopelessly exposed.

James Perchs performance v Spurs saved us €5.5m

Newcastle 2 - 1 Spurs - 18/08/12 - post-match jubilation from page 35

The move for our first goal saw twenty consecutive passes leading up to Simpsons cross. Only the defenders vain effort at clearing it stopped it being the perfect move. -
I firmly believe if he's found guilty on his assault charge he'll be sacked. When was it postponed until? Anyone know? EDIT. First week in October. http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/communities/benton-and-forest-hall/2012/06/27/nile-ranger-assault-case-postponed-72703-31271800/

Seems the ability to shift 3 goals in 45 minutes is alive and well. Bodes well for the season ahead.

SOL gets voted no.1 yet is almost identical in build to the The Liberty and St Mary's. Flat pack stadiums x 3 (x4 with the madjeski) SJP, Emirates, Old Trafford all piss all over the SOL in everyway imaginable. Must have been a mackem compiling the list.

It must be bullshit when they said if player 'A' can't be bought they'll move on to player 'B' and so on... Time to give up on this fella and offer Simpson a better deal.

West Ham agree fee in region of £15m with Liverpool for Andy Carroll

Taking him on a years loan is a good deal. In 12 months time the SKY deal kicks in and lifts the money by a third of what Clubs will get this season. £17m in 12 months time will be less of an impact. Expet lunacy to reign when prices for average players go through the roof. -

http://www.realradionortheast.co.uk/shows/the-real-radio-legends/sports-programme-changes/sports-programme-changes/33dd3 Lost any sort of interest in this a long time ago. Piss poor show especially since Gatesy was repalced by that clueless knacker Horswill. BBC's offering is streets better for those interested in that sort of thing. -
Can't see him making the grade and it is worrying he's even considered as a number 2. Harper is looking more and more limited but Elliot is worse again. Foster must be really shit if these two hae caused his sale.

Are we really? If we do reasonably well in all competitions we will hit somwhere around that mark. I'm sure I read Fulham played what was in effect an extrahalf a season with added UEFA Cup/FA/League -
West Ham agree fee in region of £15m with Liverpool for Andy Carroll
Crumpy Gunt replied to Pilko's topic in Football
I'm amazed anyone wouldn't think Carroll wouldn't fit into our style of play. Pardew is absolutely no stranger to humping it long. In fact it used to piss me off big style watching big passes come staright back at us because Ba and Cisse just aren't equipped to hold off lumbering centre halfs who simply over run them. Also, as I mentioned earlier in the thread we're looking at upwards of 55 games this season... -

Let me get this right. If Carroll signs can we then afford to let Ranger go? -

Must be some truth in it I just saw Steven Taylor deleting names off his mobile. Actually an excellent move if it can be pulled off. Get him on loan for a nominal fee for next season and then look to buy when the SKY money kicks in and goes through the roof the following season. Are folk remebering we could play upwards of 55 games with reasonable progress in Europe / Cup games. -
Shearer did for his last 5 years at SJP.

It's also the future of the game, sadly.. IYO Not sure if it's a matter of opinion after seeing what Chelsea and Man City have achieved in the last 8 or so seasons through outside investment. does that mean it's the future of the game ? Let's put it this way: if this trend of megarich individuals buying English football clubs and investing huge sums of money in them continues there is a significant chance that clubs who don't have a megarich owner will be unable to compete and in a few years time the Premiership will consist of these kinds of clubs. It's not a vision of the future I particularly look forward to, but sadly it does look like that's exactly what the future holds, yes. For you, the future is now. Only Man U have any chance of stopping City cleaning up for the foreseeable future.
