I've seen quite a bit of Brighton play over the last few years and can't recall him ever being known as a big spender by their fans but you could be right. They certainly had a very specific way of playing under Poyet (building from the back, with the ball always to feet and always started every attack with the DM dropping back to centre half to collect the ball and immediately playing it out wide to an advanced full back). I never saw Brighton launch a ball forward at any point of watching them under Poyet (probably saw about 15 games under him, at the Amex). He seemed to like using the loan system to his advantage with his signings of Bridge and Upson at his disposal during their best year in the Championship. So, I'd expect much of the same if Sunderland do indeed go down. The problem with them was that they weren't very good to watch. For all of their possession, they were never hugely effective. They never battered a team and they never really came out of the blocks full of attacking intention. Their football was very slowly, slowly catchy monkey.

He also struggled to get Brighton to score goals too. They never had a prolific striker during this time there either.
  3. What does that even mean?? It means rather than just simply rolling over, we'll get them to tickle us first. Then roll over.
  4. Totally agree and called it as soon as he picked up the injury for Liverpool. His heel injury (picked up at West Ham) could have been a career finisher if he didn't have top drawer help. I know a guy who was a very good semi-pro player and he ended his career with that injury just 3 years ago. Apparently (so he reckons) it can go again with too much weight applied to the heel (i.e: landing off balance) and is more widely known in basketball circles. My feeling is he'll suffer injuries throughout his career a la DF.

10/1 on SkyBet, looks very good value that like. No goalscorer is also 10/1 which means that if an OG nicks a win for someone you would still get a pay out. Maybe worth considering.
  6. I quite fancy 2-1 or 1-2 tonight. Odd's on Mackems 2-1 is 8's and West Ham is 11's.

I've just done that predictor and ended up with: Chelsea Champions Sunderland surviving by one point. Fulham, Cardiff and Norwich going down. Us in 10th.
  8. Someone's got their decimal point in the wrong place.

Even now, I still think they'll stay up. Said it all season and not gonna change my mind. Still have a sneaking fancy that Norwich will go due to their run-in.
  10. 'And the worlds tightest Billionaire award goes to...............'. We want ambition.
  11. Got a D in English Lit at GCSE. Fuck him.
  12. Just put a double on for through the week/next weekend: Wolves and Man Utd @ 3/1. Wolves away to Stevenage.
  13. Rather them than moneyspunking city or chelsea! Nah.
  14. Would be bloody insufferable to see these cunts win it.
  15. Just think how good they'll be with HBA in their team next year!
  16. That's good. I must have looked before they updated his stats page. 4 goals in 7 games. Hmmmm. Feel a bit more hopeful about that.
  17. I'm on Bale over 15.5 league goals. He's on 10 I think? Another 6 in 7 la liga games is gonna be tough. Need a hattrick asap off him really.
  18. I need another 6 goals from Gareth Bale over the next 7 league matches. What are the chances??
  19. £50 on over 2.5 goals in Liverpool match tomorrow. Also £10 on Liverpool to win 3-2 @ 16/1 and same for Spurs @ 40/1.

Got lucky with that Cardiff goal.
  21. Yet again Pardew comes up against an attack minded manager and gets rogered sans lube. Go figure.
  22. Yup. I've also got them in a double with Man City.
  23. I'd take him but only on the basis we were signing someone else, with a bit of pace to replace Remy. In many respects, you'd have to build an attack around de Jong but it could work out I reckon, with a three up top.
