Agree on both counts. The main full backs in KK's sides (Beresford, Hottinger, Barton etc etc) wouldn't touch the modern day full back imho and, whilst Bernard was immense for that 18 month period, I've not seen a better LB than Enrique for NUFC. Might be other reasons as well, but I think NUFC has been very, very good for his SD aspirations. I would say the influence of NUFC has been fairly minor TBH. He's ruthlessly smashed the competition and the economic downturn means people have to shop at bargain-basement retailers.
