I hope you're right. I'd agree that they do have the least talented squad. Mind, that f***ing Hull squad that survived 4 years ago was dog awful and they stayed up. They had an immense start though. I remember laughing when Geovanni scored an absolute worldy at Arsenal. We'd have survived had he hit that ball a centimetre either side of where he did. Best thing to happen to us in retrospect. Reading the only side in the bottom 5 to have won 3 of their last ten. They seem to have a spirit and momentum that Villa & ourselves certainly lack, that's why I've opted to keep them out.

I'm verging on this view atm. Starting to think 'will be a good buy for next year'. It's unfair to expect these young lads to come in and hit the ground running and is a risk in itself. Even though he's young, he's quality and quite experienced for his age. No problems. I'm not saying he couldn't be an immediate success, of course he could, more that the clubs transfer policy (last summers failures and a slow Jan) puts an immediate pressure on these younger lads which is unfair. If they're coming into a winning side then fair enough but not when we're struggling for form.

I certainly can't remember another manager having had as much patience with the fans as Pardew has. It's hardly the main point, but if any jip aimed at him was obviously audible, we're bound to get branded impatient or ungrateful by the media bods. Which, as I say, hardly matters... but will be irritating all the same. LWLLWLDDWLDLDWDLLLLWLLWLLLDL. Where does he own pride come it to overide his ego and arrogance. I think the lack of media pressure has really helped his case. If the Sun/Mirror etc were having a pop then sadly that would stir the sheep from their slumber. As it is, he's been given a very easy ride which has transcended into the crowd imho. There's probably also an acceptance/apathy that anyone working under Ashley is effectively hamstrung from the off, so why bother?
