We deffo rivals for the drop so, if they do sign the two of them, we've got to be hoping one of them picks up a knock or has a shitty start to life in the Premiership.

Ah, my mistake. Aye, it looks like it'll be really tight like. If I had to put money one way or the other though, I'd bet on them staying up. If they get 5 or 6 points from their next 4 games I think the other sides will start getting worried about them. Me too. Whereas they seem to have that 'new gaffer' belief, coupled with new faces/investment and an improvement in results we just can't seem to buy a win and the stars seem to be aligning for everything to go breasts north with Colo/HBA/Remy/Pardew etc etc etc. This just feels a little too familiar for my liking.

Have said it for ages, he's going to keep them up. Since he's arrived he's averaged 1.11 points per game, much better than before he arrived. But that form still wouldn't be enough to keep them up and their form out of their last 5 games is only 0.8 points per game, as bad as ours (but obviously we're 7 points better off). I hope I'm wrong but I've been saying it even before the Remy and M'Vila signings. I just think they'll put a good run together. I'm bloody delighted they've got through in the cup because that'll increase the chances of injuries to first teamers and they've got no depth.

    Sincerely hope they go down.

Have said it for ages, he's going to keep them up. Based on what? Based on HR's impact so far and the momentum they'll get in the Jan window due to signings. I think they'll have belief and buy into the Harry Factor, however fictional that may be. They have picked up 14 points from a possible 33 thus far and with an improvement in squad, momentum and 16 games to play, even if they just do the same sort of performance levels (I think they'll actually improve on this return) they'll be on 38 points. They also have very appealing fixtures throughout March and April if they can hit the ground running with their new signings;- March 2013 Southampton V QPR Sat 2 Mar 15:00 Premier League QPR V Sunderland Sat 9 Mar 15:00 Premier League Aston Villa V QPR Sat 16 Mar 15:00 Premier League Fulham V QPR Sat 30 Mar 15:00 April 2013 QPR V Wigan Sat 6 Apr 15:00 Premier League Everton V QPR Sat 13 Apr 15:00 Premier League QPR V Stoke Sat 20 Apr 15:00 Premier League

I agree but having faith in that is hard work, on past evidence like. Fully understand.

Would this not be with an eye on boosting squad depth ahead of next season or is that way too optimistic?

They will. Players motivated solely by money fighting relegation never ends well. They'll stay up. I'm convinced of it.

Hope his fucking heart explodes on his debut. This could have a massive impact on us in the relegation battle. He could keep them up. No blame on NUFC here for me other than to say it would have been nice to have had this tied up for Jan 1st perhaps before he could have his head turned by saggy bollocks. Hey ho.
  12. Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck. Edit - hopefully they've managed to sort out a compassionate leave agreement rather than a full on permanent transfer.
  13. He fundamentally changed us when he arrived and looked absolutely unreal initially. You have to hope he can get back to that level with some form of consistency. I wonder how much of his decline is down to the fact that he's got no competition? Also, after that initial impact, do we now expect more of him having erased the Nicky Butt era to the backs of our minds?
  14. Have a thumbs up. except obertan....he has done nothing to deserve a start (ever again). brighton and norwich performances Correct answer Sugo.
  15. Given I couldn't give a shit about whether the Owner and Dekka spaff a couple of million more than necessary, I'll opt for right now this minute thankyouplease.
  16. Are Sky not allowed to show T-Shirt messages any more?
  17. So a defender can just rugby tackle a striker 6 yards from goal to deny a striker a shot at goal and stay on the pitch? And give away a penalty every time? Yes. Then you just open it up for defenders to deliberately bring someone down knowing they'll get booked, and take the chance that the striker will miss. I hate this. Well, they could only do it twice, and perhaps the Ref could still have an option of a straight red if serious foul play? I just think a pen and a red is a double punishment especially if it's a nothing foul.
  18. They're changing the rules for this, aren't they? It's in consultation. Ah - hadn't realised that. Good to hear.

  20. Shame the ref couldn't just give a pen and not the red.
  21. I remember posting about Lukaku a few years ago in what I thought was a brilliant thread (for us anoraks anyway) "Players you've got scouted for the future" http://www.newcastle-online.org/nufcforum/index.php/topic,65562.msg2087618.html#msg2087618 That was a good thread Spence. I really think he'd be a perfect foil for Cisse and would take a huge amount of the opposition CB's attention giving all sorts of space for Cisse to work.
  22. That's kind of what i was thinking tbh. The lad isn't going to get much game time there next season so why bother? I'd even pay them a substantial loan fee for him for the next few months in the hope we can convince him to stay when it's over.
