  1. Was thinking this yesterday, would probably be too much for us though imo. You're probably right but if we're prepared to pay £10m/£11m for De Jong/Remy then I can't see Lukaku being that much more and he's younger/starting to prove himself in the English game.
  2. How much do you reckon Chelsea would want for Lukaku? He's looks a great partner for Cisse and they're linked with forwards from all over the shop.
  3. To play Marv off Cisse would need the rest of the side set up to play constructive, well drilled football with lots of movement. In a Pardew side, Shola will make more sense. Agree with this. Marv was supposed to be up near Cisse yesterday and it was like he'd had a court order not to be within 100 yards of him. The team was set up for the draw/nick a goal. You'd hope AP would be more aggressive at home to Reading. The problem is Pardew doesn't seem to be able to set us up to play attacking football without looking kamikaze at the back. It's either all attack or all defence. Best just to stick with what he knows, maybe one will go in off someone's arse or Cisse will score a wonder goal like he did against Chelsea last year. Whichever side is put out, it'll be hoofball upto Cisse within 15 minutes. Might as well lob shola up there and hope for a flick on/shin on/arse on in ways only Shola can muster.

  5. I can't bare to see another bollockless performance from the Alien so I'd go for this. I grant you that Ameobi playing is hardly ideal but Cisse needs support and we've got no other bugger. Krul Debuchy---Perch---Colo--Santon Bigi-----Cabaye------Anita Marveaux Shola---------Cisse

    Fixtures

Put some shelves up just before christmas, but not sure they'll last beyond april.

    Hatem Ben Arfa

We need this lad back desperately. Our survival could depend on moments of magic from Hatem that nobody else is capable of.
  8. It's not going to be the foregone conclusion it may have been either after yesterday. If they get turned over yesterday, they're coming to our place expecting a beating. That win for them brings them here with the one thing we haven't got; momentum. The next two games are real 6 pointers.

    Loïc Remy

We really need a feel good factor from somewhere. Bringing a new signing, any new signing, off the bench to grab a goal would be bloody gargantuan in lifting the fans/squad etc. Without more investment this window we'll go down.
  10. 6/1 at the bookies is starting to look like seriously good value.
  11. The worry is that poor teams are beating sides they shouldn't. We haven't done that all season really (well, Spurs H possibly but we lucked out really). The downward spiral is a massive concern. We're in a fucking tailspin at the moment and it's bringing flashbacks of the last relegation. Do our squad have the personalities to buckle down and play their way out of trouble? Can we put together a string of positive results? I really don't see 6 points from the next two games.

    Alan Pardew

The football is dire mate, absolutely rotten. Last season we could say 'yeah but it's getting results, he's making us hard to beat and we'll push on from there'. The way we started this season was enough to tell me that there was never the intention to move on from there, he only knows keep it tight and nick one football. He's getting stick because of the football, when you consider the talent we've got in some areas, we're an absolutely awful team. Bang on.
  13. so true. What takes Ajax ten years we bollocks up in 5 months.
  14. Ze gaffer, he say, employ le hooooooooof.

    Loïc Remy

Mike's reached for his pen. He's only got two Sports Direct ones. One has no ink. Fingers crossed.
  16. Good point. Turd performance. Two sides lacking in confidence and conviction. Cisse and Marveaux might as well have been pen pals for how often they got to see each other. Looking forward to getting Benny back.
  17. Just realised Spurs are in two of my four accumulators today. Doh!
  18. Obviously never looked in the mirror.
  19. And the second one was quality too, regardless of the Adebayor fuck up.
  20. Unbelievable saves there from Cesar.
  21. Knowing our luck Norwich would beat us and the Mackems nick a last minute draw. We could fall into a barrel of tits and emerge sucking our thumb at the minute.
  22. Ten kids for the development squad is it not? To boost up the second level of players? 1991-1993 would make them 21-19. Not really development kids. Perhaps the goalposts have been moved a little due to the younger kids not being up to it? Whichever way you look at it, it makes sense to spend £4m-£5m on kids with potential in the hope that one or two make it through the ranks. It's classic Ashley tbqh, sprat to catch a mackerel, type stuff. Spending £40-50m on 10 players in the hope 2 of them make it is very un-Ashley like. £4-£5m. Ashley wouldn't spend £40m on players if our whole squad committed mass suicide off Beachy Head. Well I don't think he's going to get 10 players in that age range for a combined £4-5m. No chance. Bigi was only £1m from an English Club. I'd say he'd pick up decent players for around £400k-£500k with the various add clauses etc etc. Many French clubs are struggling for cash.
