  1. And fucking oooooodddllllless of sympathy for Bruce alllll fucking season long. 'His hands were tied' 'Can't be expected to condition players because of short break' 'Takeover has turned the players heads' 'Conceded more but look how attacking he's got them' (As we get beat 8-1 by Man City). 'He's earned patience because of the way he did last season'. 'Harder for him without the fans'
  2. And also because when the deal was originally done nobody knew whether the season would end/what would happen with Covid etc. There's much greater clarity around that now which mitigates the risk a little. He knows this is the best deal in town even if Mauriss is genuine.
  3. I'm not sure I fully follow the narrative they're inferring about 'losing the battle but not the war' in that piece. Are they suggesting they've 'lost' NUFC but may 'win' another club down the line? Genuinely unsure.
  4. Not sure he'd fit with Arteta's vision.
  5. They couldn't just wait around indefinitely though. 17 weeks with no end in sight, you have to draw the line somewhere. Why? They said themselves that it's a long term investment. The goodwill of any takeover would've got us through this season even without new players. I genuinely think they could've waited it out. They could have leaked all sorts to get the fans irate/to the point of protest and still not formally withdrawn. That's probably been agreed with the big boys at the very top table, well above Masters level imho.
  6. Yep. And AS's "they made it impossible". They knew they weren't going to satisfy everything. I think so. They've been tipped off by the top and, in the whole scheme of things, Masters is a minion compared to Boris et al who have far more to gain/lose with their relationship with KSA/The Reubens etc. This will sound ridiculous but I'm not even 100% sure Staveley would've been fully in the picture with any discussion between PIF and the UK Government. For sure, the UK Government will have to swing something PIF's/KSA's way as an apology for this. 100%.
  7. You have to assume that PIF had been tipped off they were going to fail by upper levels of government and therefore walked to save the embarrassment and the wider relationship imho. Otherwise, let it run its course, drop things in the media, increase the volume and force the PL into making a decision. That way you get your £17m back, you get the legal angle if you want it and you get the fans 100% on board without any 'well, they walked away' arguments. Them pulling out has to be have been based on something and not just impatience.
  8. Surely they'll issue a statement soon saying something like; "As per our policy upon application of the O&D test we commit to using discrection and total confidentiality throughout. In this specific case, the buyers removed themselves from the process before it had reached its conclusion and therefore, having withdrawn from the test, we have ceased it's application".
  9. Good. Don't want the cunt. He's finished.
  10. That's a superb exchange gents. Some really good points made by Cheesy and a top reply from Greg imho.
  11. It's almost like he (Edwards), is just making stuff up as he goes along Delighted to see that post and also Wraith digging out the cunt yesterday. I notice that Puke didn't bite about any of the 'too close to SB' comments because he's knows he's crossed the line of journalistic integrity many fucking moons ago where Bruce is concerned. Can't stand the prick and would love to see him get a slap from these NUFC fans he's slating.
  12. Totally agree. A HUGE missed opportunity for the region. The biggest in my lifetime.
  13. I have a feeling it's something Ashley/Barnes/Bishop cooked up to use as leverage against the buyers and their bluff was called by PIF.
  14. £250 on at 3/1. Done.
