A Houllier/Shearer partnership sounds like the best of both worlds to me, though I think their roles would have to very clearly defined early on so people know where they stand. Also if we do crap with that set-up, how much of that would rub off on Shearer?

I'm warming to the idea of Houllier, it looks like he is available, possibly interested and has a pretty decent track record in this country (5 trophies / 6 seasons). Would certainly prefer him ahead of McLaren, Shearer, Jol and Hughes.

Unless they pull a 'big rabbit' out of the hat this fiasco is an abject failure of reason, common sense and sorely lacks any clear judgement. It smacks of a child who can't wait till christmas day to open his presents. Agreed, but maybe a tiny part of me is still hoping they may just pull it off!

I'm going to reserve judgement until the new manager (Redknapp?) is officially appointed, until then I don't think it's possible to really say they have failed.

Last night (Arsenal game) will count for very little if we don't put in a decent performance in on Saturday. I'm going for a 2-1 win.

Great performance, really think we deserved the 3 points. Smith was excellent, worked really hard and won everything in the air, was disappointed when they dropped him back into midfield. Still can't believe Enrique is picked ahead of Zog at LB. Though all this means very little if we don't go on and get a win on Saturday!!

I really want Sam to do well and I was more excited when we appointed him charge than either Rodent or Soumess, however the football today was just fucking awful and I am struggling to see how is going to turn it around with the next few fixtures all being difficult.

Faye has been decent, Smith has done well, but the rest have been pretty dreadful though thats probably down to a non existent formation/shape. I would take off Barton, bring on enrique at LB, push Zog forward and Milner onto the right.
